Description

(54) Způsob úpravy hnědého uhlí před jeho spalováním(54) Treatment of brown coal prior to its combustion

The present invention relates to a process for treating brown coal, particularly used in power plants, prior to combustion, which reduces the sulfur content of the coal. The essence of the solution is that the brown coal is heated to 600-800 K, preferably 670-720 K, prior to combustion, whereupon the resulting heating gas containing the sulfane released by heating is desulfurized.

The present invention relates to a process for treating brown coal prior to its combustion, which is used in particular in power plants in an economically and environmentally advantageous way.

In the industrial combustion of brown coal, particularly in power plants, heating plants, heating plants and large boiler rooms, flue gases containing almost all sulfur from fuel in the form of sulfur dioxide, the negative impact of which on the environment is well known, are released into the atmosphere. Current efforts to reduce harmful emissions are based on the assumption that the sulfur dioxide content of the flue gas needs to be reduced. This is achieved, for example, by its physical (adsorption) or chemical bonding to solid or liquid absorbents. However, in view of the volume of the flue gas and the very low concentration of sulfur dioxide therein, these methods are extremely energy-intensive and, in particular, capital-intensive. In addition, in many ways valuable and scarce sulfur is disposed of in waste products whose economic use is questionable in terms of quantity and quality.

The disadvantages of these processes are overcome by the process for treating brown coal prior to combustion according to the invention, characterized in that the brown coal is heated to 600 to 800 K, preferably 670 to 720 K, prior to combustion, and then desulphurize.

Při těchto teplotách totiž ještě nedochází k výraznější tvorbě dehtu a uhlovodíků, avšak rozkladem uhelné hmoty dochází k uvolnění převážně oxidu uhličitého a sulfanu. At these temperatures, tar and hydrocarbons are not yet formed more significantly, but the decomposition of the coal mass releases mainly carbon dioxide and sulfane. The amount of sulfur that can thus be released from the coal depends on the kind of coal in which the sulfur can be bound to iron (pyrrhotin, markasit) or in elemental form, which reaches 30 to 70 wt. % coal.

An advantage of the process according to the invention is that a fuel is obtained which is partially desulphurized but at the same time highly reactive, i.e., highly combustible, and further has a heating gas which can be used, for example, to stabilize the flame for other purposes. The achievable desulfurization degree is achieved in a manner which is both investment and operationally demanding and which does not appreciably reduce the efficiency of heat production in comparison with the known methods of flue gas desulfurization. Indeed, it is known that the thermal decomposition of lignite is a thermally neutral to slightly exothermic process depending on the oxygen content of the fuel, so that heat is essentially consumed only to dry the coal. The required heat can be supplied to the fuel either directly or through heated surfaces or by a combination of both at temperatures of 600 to 800 K, preferably 670 to 720 K.

To znamená, že% of the total sulfur was combusted in a powder heater. According to the invention, this coal was treated in the reactor at 100 th -1 prior to combustion and was heated to 700 K by contact with heated surfaces 3-1. Bylo tak získáno za hodinu 2 200 kg síry schopné47.6 wt. 4 all the sulfur from the coal went into the gas. After dedusting, the effluent gas was cooled with a water spray and desulfurized in a known manner. Thus, 2,200 kg of sulfur capable of being obtained per hour were obtained

The desulfurized gas in an amount of 4220 mn / h had a calorific value of about 8,500 kJ.m and was burnt in the furnace together with coal whose sulfur content was reduced according to the invention. The amount of sulfur dioxide escaping through the chimney into the atmosphere was thus reduced by approximately half.

The invention can be used in all lignite-fired plants, such as power plants, heating plants, heating plants, industrial boiler plants, etc. The advantage of the method according to the invention is not only a substantial reduction of environmental pollution with sulfur dioxide at favorable investment and operating costs, technically usable state, which is a scarce raw material. Alternatively, it can be obtained. sulfuric acid, which is a question of using some of the generally known technology for treating the gas leaving the desulfurization of coal according to the invention.
