Abstract
The method of increasing speech intelligibility in an implanted single-channel cochlear neuroprosthesis relates to the field of medicine. The method of increasing speech intelligibility in an implanted single-channel cochlear neuroprosthesis consists in reducing the frequency spectrum of the signal fed to the electrodes located near the auditory nerve endings by 0.2 to 0.9 times compared to the frequency spectrum in the range of 20 Hz to 10 kHz of the signal incident on the microphone.
Description
The present invention relates to a method for enhancing speech intelligibility in single-channel implanted cochlear neuroprosthesis for the deaf, which can be used in medicine.
Dynamický rozsah signálu je obvykle komprimován a provádí se korekce amplitudové kmitočtové charakteristiky .There are known methods of stimulation in speech processors for single-channel cochlear neuroprosthesis for the deaf, which use a low-frequency signal corresponding to the microphone signal to electrically stimulate the end of the auditory nerve. The dynamic range of the signal is usually compressed and the amplitude frequency response is corrected.
Je znám způsob stimulace v jednokanálové kochleární neuroprotéze pro neslyšící, pří kterém je nízkofrekvenční signál modulován pomocným signálem 16 kHz.There is known a method of stimulation in a single channel cochlear neuroprothesis for the deaf, in which a low frequency signal is modulated by an auxiliary signal of 16 kHz.
Nevýhodou stávajících způsobů stimulace v jednokanálových kochleárních neuroprotézách je skutečnost, že nevyužívají toho, že pacienti s implantovanou neuroprotézou obvykle velice dobře rozeznávají malé zmčny velmi nízkých kmitočtů v rozsahu asi 10 Hz až 250 Hz, ale témčř nerozeznávají zmény kmitočtů vyšších než asi 2 kHz.A disadvantage of existing methods of stimulation in single-channel cochlear neuroprostheses is that they do not take advantage of the fact that patients with implanted neuroprosthesis usually very well recognize small variations of very low frequencies in the range of about 10 Hz to 250 Hz, but hardly recognize frequency variations greater than about 2 kHz.
This disadvantage is overcome by a method of enhancing speech intelligibility in a single-channel cochlear neuroprosthesis for the deaf according to the invention, characterized in that the frequency spectrum of the signal applied to the electrodes located near the end of the auditory nerve is reduced compared to the frequency range of 20 Hz to 10 KHz microphone 0.2 to 0.9 times.
An advantage of the method of enhancing speech intelligibility in the single-channel implanted cochlear neuroprosthesis of the invention is that all frequencies in the stimulus signal spectrum are reduced to shift to an area in which the patient with implanted neuroprosthesis is able to optimally distinguish frequencies.
A method for enhancing speech intelligibility in a single-channel implanted cochlear neuroprosthesis is to provide a frequency spectrum in the range of 20 Hz to 10 kHz of the signal picked up by the microphone and amplified or amplified. otherwise provided in the cochlear neuroprosthesis is multiplied by a constant in the range of 0.2 to 0.9 before being applied to the stimulation electrodes. By multiplying the selected constant, which can be optimized within a given range according to the individual needs of the patient, the frequency spectrum of the signal shifts to the area in which the patient best distinguishes the frequencies without changing the duration of the signal. The signal thus treated is applied to electrodes located near the end of the auditory nerve.
Způsobu zvýšení srozumitelnosti řeči v jednokanálové implantované kochleární neuroprotéze lze s výhodou využít při korekci úplných hluchot v lékařství.The method of enhancing speech intelligibility in single-channel implanted cochlear neuroprosthesis can be advantageously used to correct complete deafness in medicine.
