The purpose of the solution consists in preparation of lignin with advantageous chemical properties and high yields. The above mentioned purpose is achieved in the following way: Hydrothermally processed wood pre-extracted by water at a temperature of 165 to 225 degrees C and a pressure of 1.03 to 4.3 MPa is extracted by acetone in the first stage at a temperature of 20 to 70 degrees C and subsequently in the second stage by a mixture of ethanol and aqueous ammonium hydroxide in volume ratio ranging from 1 to 2:1 at a temperature of 20 to 70 degrees C. This method of lignin insulation can be used in paper and pulp industries and in chemical industry.
