Abstract

The method of isolation of arsenic from water solutions containing arsenic and arsenic compounds consists in the fact that the acidity of the water solution containing and arsenic compounds is adjusted to pH 1 to 3, then the concentration of copper ions to 10<-3> to 10<-2> M is adjusted for example by addition of copper sulphate pentahydrate and the water solution adjusted in this way is treated by a powder metal with standard electronegative potential against a hydrogen electrode with range of 0.2 to 1.7 V, for example by iron, zinc, or aluminium in 100 to 500 percent surplus with regards to the content of arsenic in intensive mixing until the copper ions are completely eliminated from the solution.
