Abstract

The column plasma display consists of a base plate and a top plate with fissure in its contrast mask, between which there is a discharge space. The whole electrode system is formed on the base plate. There is a series of cathode segments /2/ arranged in line, circle or other curve together with starting cathode /3/, against which there is a maintenance cathode /5/. Along the line of the cathode segments /2/ and the starting cathode /3/ there is a common anode /4/, formed from one or both sides vertically on their longitudinal axis. The common anode /4/ has a length from the starting cathode /3/ to the last cathode segment /2/. Opposite the starting cathode /3/ there is the maintenance cathode (5) and against the common anode /4/ there is a maintenance anode /6/.<IMAGE>
