The convertible chair bed comprises a head part which can slide into a space provided between the backrest and backwall of the furniture frame. The upper end of the head part in the pushed-in position is connected for swivel movement by a flexible belt to the frame and the opposite end of the belt is connected to an extending carriage. - The head part (11) is connected to the carriage (2) by guide rods (12) provided on each side where they are mounted for swivel movement on the carriage on one side and on the head part (11) on the other.
