Abstract

A process for composting very damp urban waste, such as biowaste and garden waste, together with sewage sludge in two rotting steps is described, in which, for optimum moisture adjustment of the rotting material, it is proposed according to the invention to admix already composted material to the urban waste to be composted before the first rotting step as return material originating from this step or the second rotting step, and only to add the sewage sludge thereto before the second rotting step. <IMAGE>
