Abstract
In a hydrocracking process for prodn. of middle distillates of b.pt. 149-371 deg.C using a catalyst compsn. comprising a refractory inorganic oxide matrix and a H-form zeolite having the characteristic X-ray powder diffraction pattern of zeolite Y, the zeolite having a unit cell size of 24.20-24.40 Angstroms, the improvement is that the zeolite is a low acidity zeolite having an ion exchange capacity above 0.07 and a bound OH content sufficiently low to provide an ammonia temp. programmed desorption (NH3-TPD) acidity strength value of less than 2.00, pref. less than 1.50.
