Abstract
La presente invención describe un método para el tratamiento del cáncer mediante el incremento de la localización nuclear de la proteína COMMD1, lo cual se asocia con la disminución o bloqueo de la proliferación de la célula de cáncer. La invención se relaciona, además, con el uso de agentes que incrementan la localización nuclear de la proteína COMMD1 en la fabricación de un medicamento para la terapia del cáncer. Dichos agentes pueen ser péptidos o proteínas, entre otros compuestos. La invención también se relaciona con la optimización de un péptido, proveniente de la secuencia HARIKPTFRRLKWKKYKGKFW, para incrementar la localización nuclear de la proteína COMMD1 y , de esa forma, aumentar el efecto antitumoral de dicho péptido.
