Abstract
El procedimiento para el tratamiento de licores producto de la lixiviación ácida de minerales lateríticos ferruginosos de níquel y cobalto está relacionado con la rama metalúrgica y en particular con la industria del níquel. El objetivo de la invención es utilizar la cola resultante de la producción de níquel por la tecnología Caron, en sustitución del carbonato de Calcio durante la producción de níquel y cobalto por la tecnología ácida, así como tratar el efluente ácido que se genera en la etapa de precipitación de sulfuros. Además tiene por objetivo extraer de la cola una parte del níquel y del cobalto presente en la misma. La invención consiste en neutralizar el ácido libre a la solución producto de la lixiviación de minerales lateríticos ferruginosos de níquel y cobalto, y en eliminar del efluente ácido de la etapa de precipitación de sulfuros el ácido libre, el ácido sulfhídrico, y una parte del aluminio y el cromo. En ambos casos se persigue además lixiviar de la cola la mayor cantidad posible del níquel y el cobalto no recuperados por la tecnología Caron. Puede ser aplicado para el tratamiento de soluciones y efluentes ácidos en fábricas que utilicen para la producción de níquel y cobalto la lixiviación del mineral con ácido sulfúrico.The liquor treatment process resulting from the acid leaching of nickel and cobalt ferruginous lateritic minerals is related to the metallurgical branch and in particular to the nickel industry. The objective of the invention is to use the glue resulting from nickel production by Caron technology, replacing Calcium carbonate during nickel and cobalt production by acid technology, and to treat the acid effluent generated in the stage of sulfide precipitation. It also aims to extract part of the nickel and the cobalt present in it. The invention consists in neutralizing the free acid to the solution resulting from the leaching of ferruginous nickel and cobalt lateritic minerals, and in removing from the acid effluent of the sulfide precipitation stage the free acid, the hydrogen sulfide, and a part of the aluminum and chrome. In both cases, the aim is to leach from the tail as much as possible of the nickel and cobalt not recovered by Caron technology. It can be applied to treat acid solutions and effluents in factories that use leaching of the mineral with sulfuric acid for the production of nickel and cobalt.
