Abstract

La invención suministra un método de regeneración de extractantes ditiofosforados tales como ácidos ditiofosfóricos, ácidos ditiofosfónicos y ácidos ditiofosfínicos desde sus productos de oxidación enlazados sulfuro-sulfuro contenidos en una solución orgánica. El proceso genera hidrógeno activo para regenerar los extractantes ditiofosforados gastados. Ventajosamente, este hidrógeno activo se origina desde la introducción de un metal reactivo en una mezcla líquida conteniendo la solución orgánica y una solución acuosa acídica para formar hidrógeno naciente o utilizando hidrógeno gaseoso en presencia de un catalizador en la solución orgánica. El hidrógeno activo generado en el proceso rompe los enlaces sulfuro-sulfuro de las moléculas ditiofosforadas para formar los correspondientes ácidos ditiofosforados.
