Abstract
La presente invención está relacionada con el procesamiento de minerales laterÃticos por la vÃa hidrometalúrgica especÃficamente con la tecnologÃa ácida a presión .El proceso consiste en aÅ"adir ácido sulfúrico concentrado a los residuos insolubles de minerales de hierro (colas o mineral) en condiciones establecidas de toneladas de ácido sulfúrico/ toneladas de cola (0.2-0.8) con una concentración de sólidos (46-65%) en pulpas acuosas durante un tiempo de reacción entre 10-60 min, a una temperatura controlada de 90 a 110 o C, se lograN soluciones concentradas de Fe 3+ de hasta 160 g/L equivalente 570.0 g/L de Fe2 (SO4) en una pulpa de colas activadas, logrando un mejor aprovechamiento del ácido y onsecuentemente un mÃnimo contenido de ácido libre, en forma de pulpas de colas activadas aÅ"adidas al efluente, permite oxidar el H2 S con una dosificación de iones férrico en cantidades menor que la estequeométrica, seguido del procedimiento de separación del azufre coloidal del efluente lÃquido por medio de la neutralización con Ca(OH)2 a pH entre (1.5-5).</P>
