Abstract
<p>La invención se refiere a un método para el tratamiento térmico de arcillas, este método comprende los siguientes pasos: precalentar la arcilla, que está suspendida en un gas portador, en un intercambiador de calor (150); tratar térmicamente la arcilla en una etapa de calcinación (160) operada bajo condiciones químicamente oxidantes; posteriormente tratar térmicamente la arcilla en una etapa de calcinación (17) operada bajo condiciones químicamente reductoras; enfriar la arcilla en una etapa de enfriamiento (180) operada bajo condiciones químicamente reductoras; enfriar la arcilla en una etapa de enfriamiento (190) operada bajo condiciones químicamente oxidantes, en la cual los gases de escape del enfriador (193) operado de manera oxidante (190) se dirigen a través de una tubería hacia la etapa de calcinación (160) operada de manera oxidante, y la etapa de calcinación (170) operada bajo condiciones químicas reductoras recibe aire del enfriador (180) operado de manera reductora. La secuencia alternante del potencial redox del entorno conduce a un producto negro a gris en lugar de un producto rojizo-marrón, con simultáneamente menos emisión de gas nocivo. El método llevado a cabo de este modo puede funcionar de manera estable.</p>
