Description
The invention relates to a process for producing pure concentrated hydrochloric acid from contaminated under-azeotropic waste acid. The application of the invention can be carried out in the workup of the acid which is obtained in the production of magnesium oxide by thermal decomposition of magnesium chloride, if in addition to pure concentrated hydrochloric acid and calcium chloride products are to be produced.
The use of solution distillation to treat the contaminated under-azeotropic hydrochloric acid produced from the exhaust gases of thermal magnesium chloride cleavage by adiabatic absorption is well known. According to DD WP 61793, the distillation can be carried out with a 40% magnesium chloride solution, wherein the ratio of MgCl 2 to HCI should be chosen so that the MgCl 2 concentration is above 26% in the bottom of the column. The bottom solution should be evaporated outside the column and used again for distillation. The aim of the process is the production of dry hydrogen chloride.
The use of concentrated magnesium chloride solution is also proposed in DD WP 88 522. It is recommended that the equipment of the distillation column with a top column and the task of the thin acids obtained in the residual gas purification after the adiabatic absorption and after evaporation of the bottom solution to the absorption column. DE AS 2135764 provides for the recovery of anhydrous HCI gas from hydrous HCl gas by condensation and cooling by means of a hydrochloric acid optionally containing MgCl 2 and the workup of the resulting solution by distillation in the presence of dissolved MgCl 2 perform. The water-containing gas is to be brought directly into a condenser with a circulating hydrochloric acid of a temperature of 10 to 70 ° C, which contains a maximum of 10 wt .-% MgCl 2 and is superazeotropic in contact and cooled, with dehydrated hydrogen chloride flows out of the condenser. The resulting dilute solution is to be passed into a distillation column, in which in the presence of at least 20 wt .-% MgCl 2 (or other suitable chlorides) of the hydrogen chloride is expelled and mixed with the gas to be dehydrated. The sump solution is evaporated and at least partially returned to the process. According to DDWP143069, the acid obtained from the waste gases from the thermal metal chloride cleavage by means of adiabatic absorption is to be concentrated by solution distillation with concentrated metal chloride solutions of di- or polyvalent metals. The head product of the distillation is condensed by means of a partial stream of cooled hydrochloric acid and the sump solution is evaporated by heat exchange mild hot cleavage gases. It is also proposed to carry out the heating of the column with steam from the Entspannungsverdampfurrgg of the metal chloride solution. The preparation of aqueous chlorine gas scrubbing gases with at least 75% HCl from hydrochloric acid and the recovery of anhydrous hydrogen chloride from these mixtures is the subject of DE OS 2210857. The 15 to 35% hydrochloric acid in the upper section of a fractionation and at the same level or 4 floors via which an aqueous solution of a dehydrating agent is introduced at a temperature through which the solution has a vapor pressure of from 50 to 300 mm Hg. At the top of the column, an HCI-H 2 O mixture with at least 75% HCl exits when superheated steam is introduced into the lower section of the column.
The drying of the overhead product can be carried out by condensation of the water vapor in a reflux condenser or by treatment with a dehydrating agent. As a dehydrating agent, a 50 to 60% CaCl 2 solution at a temperature of 75 to 95 ° C to use.
A process for the treatment of contaminated 18% hydrochloric acid, which is prepared from the exhaust gases of the thermal magnesium chloride cleavage, also works with concentrated calcium chloride solution solution distillation ("Chemie-Ingenieur-Technik" 54 [1982], No. 11, p 1019) . the acid is mixed at a temperature of 105 ° C before entry into a stripping column with 52% igerCaCI 2 solution, so that a mixing temperature of 90 0 C is established. by the indirect heating of the column bottom, a head flows product with 51 Ma .-% HCl, which also contains entrained CaCl 2 solution droplets and mist in addition to water vapor.
In the dephlegmator, the dewatering and purification of the gas mixture is carried out by cooling and partial condensation. The condensed acid returns to the column. The use of the cooled head product was intended to concentrate a partial stream of the 18% acid to be processed, but this did not lead to a hydrochloric acid of 30% HCl, since the contamination of the subazeotropic acid, in particular with magnesium chloride, was too high. Therefore, while maintaining overhead cooling in the dephlegmator and recycling the condensate to the column, treated water is used as the absorbent.
Die Aufkonzentrierung der sauren Sumpf lösung erfolgt in einer gasbeheizten Tauchbrenneraniage mit nachgeschalteter 2stufiger Abgasreinigungsanlage.in the bottom of a solution with 42% CaCl 2 and 0.2 to 0.3% HCl from running, which is evaporated and used again at the head. A small portion of the bottom solution is slurried to remove impurities, especially magnesium chloride from the acid, in a neutralization plant in which a partial stream of the acid is converted to produce calcium chloride products with lime. The concentration of the acidic sump solution is carried out in a gas-heated Tauchbrenneraniage with downstream 2-stage emission control system.
The resulting dilute acid with 10% HCl is also neutralized and worked up to CaCl 2 products. The processes suffer from disadvantages which detract from the economics of treating the contaminated under-azeotropic acid produced from the fission gases during thermal magnesium chloride fission by adiabatic absorption. The evaporation of the sump solution requires either the use of immersion burner systems with high-quality primary energy sources and materials for the dip tubes and with elaborate emission control systems or the use of steam-heated systems made of acid-resistant materials using high-tension heating steam, which is necessary due to the considerable boiling point shifts. A disadvantage is also in both variants of the attack of dilute acid, which should be kept low by the highest possible concentration of the sump solution. This requires the use of a highly concentrated metal chloride solution, the production of which is problematic due to the boiling point shifts and the risk of crystallization. The acid reflux from the top product cooling to the distillation column leads to an adverse dilution of the inlet mixture and to a higher steam consumption for the sump heating. When using a pure output column influencing the irrigation density by the return is irrelevant.
The object of the invention is to improve the economics of producing pure concentrated hydrochloric acid from contaminated under-azeotropic acid, which is obtained from the exhaust gases of the magnesium oxide production by the process of thermal decomposition of magnesium chloride by adiabatic absorption.
The invention has the task of developing a method that allows the workup of unterazeotropic waste acid to pure concentrated hydrochloric acid with low heat energy input and without the use of high quality primary energy sources and the accumulation of dilute acid.
The object is achieved by coupling the solution distillation for the purpose of concentrating the acid with the production of calcium chloride products from a portion of the waste acid. It has been found that the distillation process can be carried out with a coupling with a lower concentration of the calcium chloride solution, whereby a substantial increase in the effectiveness of the evaporation process of the solution is achieved. A reduction of the calcium chloride concentration of the feed solution for the distillation from 52% to values below 50% usually leads to considerable disadvantages in that the hydrogen chloride content of the overhead product is reduced and the bottom product increases. The result is a lower yield of the distillation process and an increased accumulation of dilute acid, which has a negative effect on the heat energy consumption of the overall process. These disadvantages can be largely eliminated by the measures according to the invention. It has been found that when using recycled water for the isothermal absorption of hydrogen chloride from the top product of the distillation column, the cooling of the gas mixture in the dephlegmator and thus the condensing acid amount can be reduced without affecting the acid quality. Coupling with the production of calcium chloride products allows the neutralization of the contaminated superazeotropic acid from the dephlegmator with lime and thus eliminating the dilution of the inlet mixture of the column by the reflux, whereby the partial pressure conditions at the top of the column can be approximately maintained when using a thinner calcium chloride solution. In addition, heat energy is saved for the bottom heating of the distillation column.
According to the invention, the sump solution whose hydrogen chloride content increases by the reduction of the calcium chloride concentration is also supplied to a neutralization with lime. As a result, both the accumulation of dilute acid is avoided and created the condition for the application of an effective evaporation, which is characterized by a low heat energy demand and the possibilities of using heating steam and avoiding the use of high quality materials. By using a neutral or basic solution for the evaporation process, it is also possible to use waste heat from the calcium chloride prill manufacture and thus save further primary energy. Prior to concentration, the neutralized bottoms solution is mixed with calcium chloride solution, which is formed by neutralization of a partial stream of Unterazeotropic waste acid with lime for the production of calcium chloride products. This mixed solution is first partially concentrated by the hot dust-containing exhaust gases of calcium chloride prill production in a Sprüfließbettapparat that must be cooled and washed in a final scrubber and then fed to a multi-stage steam-heated evaporation plant. From the first stage of the evaporation process, partially concentrated solution can be removed for further processing, for example for the production of antifreeze solution and / or landfill. The evaporation is carried out to a final concentration of 45 to 50% CaCl 2 , which is required for both the solution distillation and for the preparation of prilled calcium chloride.

By adiabatic absorption of hydrogen chloride from the exhaust gases of the thermal decomposition of magnesium chloride, 40 t / h hydrochloric acid with 18% HCl contaminated with MgCl 2 is produced. 9.5 t / h of technically pure hydrochloric acid with 30% HCl and various calcium chloride products such as sellable and landfillable solution with 30 to 35% CaCl 2 and prills with at least 95% CaCl 2 are to be prepared from this waste acid.
At the top of the distillation column, which is designed as a stripping column, 20 t / h of acid are charged together with 60 t / h solution with 48% CaCl 2 . The heating of the column is carried out with water vapor 25OkPa via a Korobon tube heat exchanger through which the sump solution is performed in forced circulation. The distillation is carried out under vacuum, so that the boiling point in the bottom of the column t s = 90 0 C.
The resulting sump solution, consisting of 40% CaCl 2 , 0.6% HCl and 59.4% H 2 O is supplied after appropriate heat exchange with preheating solution of a neutralization with lime. The amount of solution to be neutralized is 73 t / h. The overhead product, which consists of 3.15 t / h of HCl and 3.85 t / h of H 2 O and contaminated with CaCl 2 droplets and mist, is cooled in a Korobon heat exchanger, with condensation of 0.3 t / h HCI and 1.0t / h H 2 O a part of the impurities are removed from the gas. The resulting contaminated acid is neutralized with lime and used for the production of CaCl 2 products. From the purified top product is prepared by isothermal absorption with downstream purification of residual gas using desalted water 30% acid with the required technical purity. The preparation of the 48% CaCl 2 solution, which is used for the distillation and as a starting material for the production of CaCl 2 -PrNI, is carried out by multi-stage evaporation in a steam-heated plant and using the waste heat of the prill production from the resulting CaCl 2 solutions of different concentration.
