Abstract

A novel method is described for controlling a vending machine which provides services or dispenses objects on receipt of money or similar items of value. The vending machine contains an electronic control unit with a memory and a read-write device. It can be enabled or directly activated by different record carriers in card form in order to store data controlling the operating process or in order to output and/or display data corresponding to currently or previously recorded operating conditions. The cards are preferably designed as chip cards fitted with a microprocessor and can be distinguished according to their function as so-called charge cards, account cards and service cards. <IMAGE>

Die Abrechnung des vereinnahmten Geldes erfolgt in der Weise, daß ein verschlossener Geldbehälter im Automaten ausgewechselt und das im entnommenen Behälter befindliche Geld gezählt wird. Hierbei ist eine Kontrolle der Ordnungsgemäßigkeit de r Geldeinnahme nicht möglich. Weiterhin ist es bei Auftreten einer Störung oft schwierig, den Fehler am Ort des Automaten festzustellen, so daß dieser in eine Reparaturwerkstatt gebracht werden muß, obwohl er am Aufstellort hätte repariert werden können. Auch werden bei einer derartigen Reparatur nur die aktuellen Fehler beseitigt, ohne nach deren Ursache zu forschen, so daß mit dem erneuten Auftreten eines Fehlers bereits nach kurzer Zeit gerechnet werden muß. Schließlich besteht auch grundsätzlich die Gefahr von Manipulationen der Automaten durch das Bedienungs- und/oder Wartungspersonal zum Nachteil der Kunden oder des Aufstellers. Es ist daher die Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung, ein Verfahren zum Betrieb eines gegen Annahme von Geld oder geldgleichen Werten Leistungen erbringenden oder Gegenstände ausgebenden Automaten anzugeben, das eine einwandfreie und zuverlässige Überwachung aller im bestimmungsgemäßen Betrieb durchgeführten Vorgänge und eine automatische Abrechnung dieser Vorgänge ermöglicht. Weiterhin soll die Umstellung bei Tarifänderungen und dergleichen automatisch vorgenommen werden können. Schließlich soll auch das Auftreten von Störfällen besser erkannt werden, so daß erforderliche Rpparaturen einfacher durchgeführt werden können und auch die Störanfälligkeit herabgesetzt wird. Diese Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß durch die im kennzeichnenden Teil des Anspruchs 1 angegebenen Merkmale gelöst. Vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens ergeben sich aus den Unteransprüchen. Dadurch, daß der Automat durch unterschiedliche kartenförmige Aufzeichnungsträger zur Speicherung von den Betriebsablauf beeinflussendenDaten oder zur Ausgabe und/oder Anzeige von gegenwärtigen oder in der Vergangenheit aufgezeichneten Betriebszuständen entsprechenden Daten freigegeben oder unmittelbar veranlaßt wird, kann durch entsprechende Ausgabe der Aufzeichnungsträger erreicht werden, daß nur bestimmte Personen bestimmte Handlungen an den Automaten vornehmen können, wobei bestimmte, den Betriebsablauf beeinflussende Daten direkt vom Aufzeichnungsträger in den Speicher der Steuereinheit eingelesen werden können, so daß deren Manipulation nicht möglich ist. Grundsätzlich lassen sich hierbei drei Arten von kartenförmigen Aufzeichnungsträgern unterscheiden. Mit einer sogenannten Tarifkarte werden die für den bestimmungsgemäßen Betrieb erforderlichen Daten wie zum Beispiel der geltende Tarif in den Speicher eingelesen. Bei späteren Änderungen des Tarifs werden durch eine entsprechend geänderte Tarifkarte die Daten neu eingeschrieben.
