Anwendungsgebiet der ErfindungField of application of the invention
The invention relates to a method for lubricants by additive with a multivalent lubricant additive, which is particularly advantageous to use in gear and other oils.
Charakteristik des bekannten Standes der TechnikCharacteristic of the known state of the art
It is known for the lubrication of machinery and aggregates the lubricating oils used sulfur or
To add sulfur compounds, in conjunction with an increase in the pressure-absorbing capacity of the oils in order to reduce wear during operation to achieve. The sulfur forms a reaction layer on the metal surface, which counteracts the wear. The effectiveness of such sulfur compounds depends critically on the reactivity and the content of the sulfur. Thus, it is known that organic polysulfides best meet this claim, with efficiency increasing with increasing sulfur content. Sulfur compounds with 5 to 50 Ma. Parts in% sulfur content are known.
These are aliphatic polysulfides. The production of polysulfides with sulfur contents up to 50 Ma. Parts in% is very expensive.
Polysulfide werden deshalb angewendet, weil sie eine höhere Geschwindigkeit der Phasengronzenreaktion Additive/MetallPolysulfides are used because they have a higher rate of the phase-grombin reaction additives / metal

Sulfur compounds which have no polysulfide structure, such as thioethers, are largely inactive and have no or only a negligible load-bearing capacity in lubricants.
As a major drawback of Polysulfidanwendung have proven their instability and corrosion properties.
Neuerdings sind. uch aromatische Polysulfidsysteme bekanntgeworden (Vortrag von Csikos, Börzöngi, Barmos, Toth 33.Recently are. Aromatic polysulfide systems become known (lecture by Csikos, Börzöngi, Barmos, Toth 33.

Polysulfide-containing oils tend to excrete sulfur and aging products, so are unstable. These reduce the effective EP concentration and thus the EP effectiveness.
The use of polysulfide-containing oils can clog lubricant ducts when used in machines, which impairs the functioning of the machine. For example, a brand product manufactured according to US Pat. No. 4,204,969 is unstable in the EP field with 30% sulfur as additives and in the lubricating oil. There are precipitations during storage. Furthermore, highly effective polysulfide-containing EP additives are prepared by sulfurization of dicyclopentadiene. Compounds of this type are also unstable and show precipitates when stored as additives or as a final product.
Ziel der ErfindunoAim of the invention
It is an object of the invention to find a process for the addition of lubricant additives, which eliminates the additional inhibition of the lubricants for the purpose of stabilization. -2- 299 534 Darlegung de· Weieni der Erfindung-2- 299 534 Presentation of the Wise of the Invention
The invention has for its object to develop a process for the additive of lubricants with multivalent high-pressure additives by mixing the unalloyed or alloyed lubricant with 0.1 to 10 parts by mass in% of a sulfur heterocycle. According to the invention the object is achieved by a method in which 4,5-tetramethylene-1,3-dithol-2-thlon and 4,6-trimethylene-1,3-ditholol-2-thione is used as a wear-reducing additive. According to a further feature of the invention, the wear-reducing additive may contain alkyl radicals. It was surprisingly found that when using 4,6-tetramethylene-1,3-dithiol-2-th! On and 4,6-trlmethylene-1,3-dithiol-2-thione a good load bearing capacity at a very good camp · And formulation stability is achieved. Already when using small amounts of z. For example, 4,5-tetramethylene-1,3-dithiol-2-thione and 4,5-trimethylene-1,3-dithiol-2-thione, a high load carrying capacity is achieved. The oil solution remains stable. The use of inhibitors to stabilize the additive and the oil solution is not required.
Another advantage over the polysulfide additives is that a high load carrying capacity is achieved at high sulfur levels up to 51 parts by weight in% with a low concentration of active ingredient.
The mineral oils used may be those prepared by the known refining processes. There are still animal, vegetable and synthetic oils such. As olefin polymers, ester oils and polyalkylene glycols usable. Furthermore, the use of other known additives in combination with the inventive use of 4,5-tetramethylene-1,3-dithlol-2-thlon and 4,5-trimethylene-1,3-d! Th! Ol-2-thione Addition possible. Thus, as known, detergent additives, VI improvers, oxidation inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, etc. can be used. The use according to the invention of 4,5-tetramethylene-1,3-dithiol-2-thione and 4 / 5-trimethylene-1,3-dithiol-2-thlon refers to a range of 0.1 to 10 Ma.-parts in % preferably from 1-5 parts by mass in%.
