Nunmehr wird das Sitzkissen 16 um seine Schwenkachse 21 hochgeklappt, wobei es in den vom Lehnenunterteil 22 freigegebenen Raumabschnitt innerhalb der Rückenlehne 18 einschwenkt. Die Abmessungen von Sitzkissen 16 und Lehnenunterteil 22 sind so aufeinander abgestimmt, daß nunmehr das Sitzkissen 16 diesen Raumabschnitt weitgehend spaltfrei ausfüllt und mit seiner Abdeckung 37 mit der Polstervorderseite des Lehnenoberteils 23 bündig ist. The footrest 13 which is arranged on the vehicle floor 111 below the seat cushion 16 and is fastened to the front support feet 29 of the seat frame 15 is now exposed and can be used by the passenger placed on the seat opposite the vehicle seat 10 .

Claims

1. Vehicle seat which is designed to be folded away in order to obtain additional free space in a passenger cabin, in particular for Pullmann limousines, with a seat cushion which can be pivoted about a pivot axis extending in the seat width and which can be folded up from an approximately horizontal seat use position into an approximately vertical seat non-use position, and with a backrest separated from the seat cushion, characterized in that the backrest ( 18 ) is divided transversely to the backrest height into a lower back part ( 22 ) facing the seat cushion ( 16 ) and into an upper back part ( 23 ) facing away from the seat cushion ( 16 ) so that the dimensions of the cushion the bottom part (22) which correspond to the seat cushion (16), that the lower backrest part (22) is movably arranged so that it is displaceable rearwardly out of its backrest (18) complementary useful position, and that the pivot axis (21) the seat cushion ( 16 ) near the backrest e ( 18 ) facing rear edge is arranged such that the seat cushion ( 16 ) can be pivoted into the space section released by the lower backrest part ( 22 ) after it has been moved back.

Seat according to claim 1, characterized in that the seat cushion ( 16 ) and lower back part ( 22 ) are matched to one another so that the seat cushion ( 16 ) largely fills the space section of the lower back part ( 22 ) and with its underside with the front of the Backrest upper part ( 23 ) is essentially flush.

3. Seat according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the displacement of the lower back part ( 22 ) is effected by positive guidance in guide rails.

4. Seat according to claim 3, characterized in that the guide rails in an at the bottom of the passenger cabin ( 11 ) anchored seat frame ( 15 ) are formed, the bearing points ( 32 ) for receiving the pivot axis ( 21 ) of the seat cushion ( 16 ).

Seat according to claim 4, characterized in that the guide rails are formed by two holding arms ( 30 , 31 ) which are arranged one above the other with vertical spacing on each side of the seat and have guide links ( 38 , 39 ) which extend approximately in the horizontal direction and in their guide links ( 38 , 39 ) from the lower backrest part ( 22 ) laterally projecting link pins ( 40 , 41 ).

Seat according to claim 5, characterized in that the seat frame ( 15 ) has two side supports ( 24 ) which are rigidly connected to one another by cross members ( 25 , 26 ), and in that each side support ( 24 ) has a vertical beam ( 27 ), from each of which a pair of holding arms ( 30 , 31 ) projects substantially horizontally to the front.

Seat according to claim 6, characterized in that the lengths of the holding arms ( 30 , 31 ) and the guide slots formed therein ( 38 , 39 ) are dimensioned such that when the seat cushion ( 16 ) is folded up, the maximum displaced backrest lower part ( 22 ) between the Seat cushion ( 16 ) and the vertical bars ( 27 ) of the side supports ( 24 ) in the seat frame ( 15 ).

Seat according to one of claims 4-7, characterized in that the seat cushion ( 16 ) has a seat cushion ( 17 ) receiving carrier ( 33 ) which is suspended in the bearing points ( 32 ) of the seat frame ( 15 ) and on the underside of the seat cushion ( 16 ) is covered by a covering ( 37 ) which is stylistically adapted to a cushion surface of the upper backrest part ( 23 ) or a wall covering ( 112 ) in the footwell of the passenger cabin ( 11 ).

9. Seat according to one of claims 1-7, characterized in that the seat cushion ( 16 ) and the lower back part ( 22 ) are positively coupled to one another such that the backward displacement of the lower back part ( 22 ) is derived from the upward movement of the seat cushion ( 17 ).
