Verfahren zur Darstellung von Carboxydiarylhydrolen.
Bisher war nur die Kondensation von aromatischen Aldehyden mit 2 Molekülen aromatischer
Oxycarbonsäuren zu Leukotriarylmethanverbindungen bekannt (vgl. z. B. die
Patentschriften 234805, 235155 und 238487 der Kl. 22 b).
Es wurde nun gefunden, daß es auch möglich ist, gleiche Moleküle beider Komponenten
zu Carboxydiarylhydrolen zu konden-"10 siereri. Diese bilden farblose oder schwach
gefärbte Pulver, welche durch Kondensation mit einem weiteren Molekül einer geeigneten
aromatischen Oxycarbonsäure Leukotriarylmethankörper liefern, die durch Oxydation
in nachchromierbare Farbstoffe übergehen.
Der Verlauf des Verfahrens ist überraschend, da man erwarten mußte/ daß bei Verwendung
von weniger als 2 Molekülen Oxycarbonsäure auf ι Molekül Aldehyd ein Teil des Aldehyds
unverändert bleiben und der Rest zur Leukotriarylmethanverbindung kondensiert werden
würde.
17,7 Teile p-Diäthylaminobenzaldehyd werden
in 250 Teilen Schwefelsäure von 60 bis ι 66 ° Be. gelöst und unter Rühren und Kühlen
C mit 16,6 Teilen 3 · 5 - Dimethyl -1 - oxybenzol - 2-carbonsäure
(s-Xylenol-o-carbonsäure) (Schmelz- !30 punkt 166 °, erhalten aus s- Xylenolnatrium
\ und Kohlensäure) versetzt. Wenn diese nicht / mehr nachweisbar ist, gießt man die bräunliehe
Schmelze auf Eis und saugt das abgeschiedene Hydrol ab. Die durch Konden-J 35 sation des Hydfols mit o-Kresotinsäure er-
'' haltene Leukosäure liefert durch Oxydation einen Farbstoff, der Wolle nach dem Chromieren
violett färbt.
21,2 Teile o-Chlor-p-diäthylaminobenzylaldehyd
(Schmelzpunkt 36 °, wird ebenso wie das Dimethylprodukt dargestellt, vgl. Patentschrift
88338, Kl. 22) werden mit 15,2 Teilen m-Kresotinsäure wie in Beispiel 1 kondensiert. Die
durch Kondensation des Hydrols mit o-Kresotinsäure erhaltene Leukosäure liefert durch
Oxydation einen Farbstoff, der Wolle nach dem Chromieren blau violett färbt.
23,6 Teile ο - Chlorbenzaldehyd werden wie in Beispiel 1 mit 20 Teilen 3 · 5 - Dimethyl -1-oxybenzol
- 2 - carbonsäure kondensiert. Zur Reinigung kann man das Hydrol in Natriumcarbonat
heiß lösen und mit heißer Salzsäure wieder ausfällen. Die durch Kondensation des Hydrols mit o-Kresotinsäure erhaltene
Leukosäure liefert durch Oxydation einen Farbstoff, der Wolle nach dem Chromieren blau
färbt.
Wie die beiden zuerst genannten Aldehyde verhalten sich auch die entsprechenden Dimethylaminoaldehyde;
wie der ο - Chlorbenzaldehyd verhalten sich auch Polychlorbenzaldehyde,
Sulfobenzaldehyde usw. Wie die genannten Oxysäuren verhalten sich auch die p-Kresotinsäure,
3 - Methyl - 2 - oxy - 4-chlorbenzol-i -carbonsäure,
die 2 - Oxynaphtalin - 3 - carbonsäure und ihre Monosulfosäuren usw. Die Kondensation
kann auch in anderer Weise ausgeführt werden, z. B. durch Erwärmen mit
