Abstract

1. An expansion tank containing storage capacity with a pump operated freshwater unit or containing a temperature dependent volume alteration in a closed fluid system, with a solid housing (1) and with an extensible member connected with two separate fluid joints (7) which are attached to the housing (1), the member being filled with fluid and extends outwardly when taking up the storage capacity, whereby the inner space between the solid housing (1) and the extensible member is permanently open to the atmosphere, characterised in that the extensible member is formed as a rubber cylinder (5) which is free from inner supporting elements and in its unloaded initial form is inherently stable, its end each being coordinated with a fluid joint (7).
