Description

Method of preserving fishing nets Fishing nets are used in the Use after a relatively short time as a result of exposure to bacteria or Salts dissolved in water brittle. It is therefore customary to cover the nets with tannins to treat, which measure is effective even for a short time. One also has suggested fishing nets with tannin broths containing copper oxide, which are still alkaline Reacting inorganic compounds contain, treat, and have to do with it partially, good results achieved in that these nets remain unchanged in their strength maintained. In the practical application of such known methods has it turned out that in the presence of iron the preservative effect of the Copper oxide does not occur. The presence of iron or iron compounds. Is very easy to explain; because the impregnation is usually done in iron. Boilers. The broth remaining after impregnation is not discarded, but continued to be used after refreshing with copper oxide and tanning agents. There is thus an accumulation of iron through corrosion, which ultimately can become so high that the lasting effect of the copper oxide is impaired will.

It has now been found that these disadvantageous phenomena that the general introduction of the otherwise excellent: impregnation of fishing nets with Copper oxide in the way, standing, not taking place when one is trying to preserve the nets containing copper oxide Impregnation baths used that contain compounds: which iron or iron compounds fail or in complex connections. convict. It was found that a. Addition of, for example, Natrumpho§p'hat to impregnating baths containing copper oxide self then a perfect protection of the nets causes if the baths with bare iron come in or contain significant amounts of rust; same effect will achieved with the help of potassium ferrocyanide. The additives in question can do the Impregnation baths individually or in combination, for example: in quantities of 100 g per cubic meter can be added. The impregnated according to the invention Nets are invariably of good quality and show, for example, ice-% ice-e in the first 3 months. no change in strength after impregnation.

Die Fischnetze «erden in diesem Bade in bekannter Weise imprägniert.EXAMPLE i 20 kg of a mixture of 15 kg of copper oxide, 41 cellulose extract and 1 kg of sodium phosphate are added to 100 l of a conventional tanning broth. In this bath, the fishmutters are impregnated in a known manner. EXAMPLE 40 kg of a mixture of 20 kg of tannin extract , 6k cellulose extract, i 3 kg of copper oxide and i kg of potassium ferrocyanide are added to 100 liters of hot water. In this bath, the fishing nets are impregnated in a known manner.
