Insekticides Mittel
Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein insekticides Mittel.
Es ist bekannt, daß 2-Äthylhexandiol-(i, 3) insekticide Wirkung besitzt. Diese Verbindung hat jedoch den Nachteil, daß sie bei ihrer Verwendung gegenüber Menschen und Tieren sehr stark toxische Eigenschaften besitzt. Wegen seiner Toxicität kann daher 2-Äthylhexandiol-(i, 3) in der Praxis nicht als Insektenabwehrmittel verwendet werden.
Die vorliegende Erfindung trägt dazu bei, diese Nachteile zu beheben.
Es wurde gefunden, daß die an sich bekannte insekticide Verbindung 2-Äthylhexandiol-(i, 3) auch in der Mischung mit 1, 3-Butylenglykol ihre insekticide Wirkung nicht verliert.
Erfindungsgemäß besteht das insekticide Mittel aus einer Mischung von 2-Äthylhexandiol-(i, 3) mit i, 3-Butylenglykol.
Es wurde weiterhin gefunden, daß selbst bei Mischungsverhältnissen von 90 bis 95 % 1, 3-Butylenglykol zu 10 bis 5°/o 2-Äthylhexandiol-(i, 3) die insekticide Wirkung nicht verlorengeht. Der-
artige Gemische zeigen vielmehr dieselbe Wirksamkeit wie ioo Teile 2-Äthylhexandiol-(i, 3).
Solche Gemische haben jedoch außerdem den Vorteil, daß die Toxicität gegenüber Menschen und Tieren, wie Tierversuche gezeigt haben, nicht mehr vorliegt, so daß sie in der Praxis als Insektenabwehrmittel verwendet werden können, was beim Gebrauch von 100 Teilen 2-Äthylhexandiol-(i, 3) wegen seiner Toxicität nicht möglich ist.
Ein Gemisch z. B. bestehend aus 9 Teilen i, 3-Butylenglykol und ι Teil 2-Äthylhexandiol-(i, 3) (bezogen auf 10) ist bei seiner Verwendung für Menschen und Tiere nicht mehr toxisch, während es sowohl toxische als auch abweisende Wirkung auf Insekten zeigt.
Die Anwendung des erfindungsgemäßen Mittels erfolgt durch Einreiben, Versprühen oder Verdampfen.

Claims (2)

Patentanspruches
1. Insekticides Mittel, bestehend aus einer Mischung von 2-Äthylhexandiol-(i, 3) mit i, 3-Butylenglykol.
2. Insekticides Mittel nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Mischung aus 90 bis 95% i, 3-Butylenglykol und 10 bis 5% 2-Äthylhexandiol-(i, 3) besteht.
