Abstract

In order to provide a fence having fence posts and lattice mats composed of vertical and horizontal bars and permitting a secure fixture of the lattice mats to the fence posts while reducing the individual parts and the manufacturing and assembly expenditure, it is proposed that the fence posts (1) each possess vertical grooves (5) into which the lattice mats (2) can be inserted with their edges from the free end of the fence post (1), that there be formed on one of the two groove legs (5) projections (6) which project towards the other groove leg (5), that the distance of the groove (5) between the free end of the projection (6) and the projection-free leg of the groove (5) be dimensioned at least slightly larger than the width of the lattice mat (2), and that at least one clamping piece (7), which projects into the vertical plane clamped by the region of the horizontal webs (4) which faces the projection, can be inserted between the projection-free leg and the lattice mat end inserted into the groove (5). <IMAGE>
