Abstract

The tamper-proof closure for containers, such as bottles and the like, has a plastic closure cap (1) which is constructed as a screw cap and whose shell is connected in the region of the inside circumference of the shell via tear-off webs (7) to a tamper-proof band (8) which bears on its inside at least one holding element (14) which grips below an annular catch projection of the container arranged below the screw thread of the container when the closure cap is screwed onto the container mouth, the tamper-proof band having over its circumference at least one intended break point which is formed by a slot (15) in the body of the tamper-proof band which passes from the upper to the lower edge of the body and is bridged by a band portion (16) connecting the ends of the tamper-proof band and projecting radially outwards from the circumference of the band essentially in the shape of a loop. <IMAGE>
