Abstract

The earth covering element 10 comprises at least three basic setts 13, 24, 25, connected to one another to form a unit and delineated in relation to one another by dummy joints 14, 17. On the peripheral face of each element projections 37 and indentations 38 are formed along a theoretical base line. The basic setts are assembled into a basic T-shape by means of two basic setts arranged side by side with one another, which form a cross-piece 12, and a leg 13 comprising a third basic sett that is arranged approximately centrally on one side of the said cross piece and transversely in relation thereto. If these ground covering elements are used as a laying unit for road covering, a strong and above all uniform bonding action is achieved, which ensures good transmission of the forces originating from traffic loads. Furthermore there is only a slight risk of the ground covering elements rocking, that is to say disengaging from the bond, as a result of which damage of the ground covering element is as far as possible avoided. <IMAGE>
