Abstract

1. Deep drawn metallic closure for a container (1) having a beaded or curled edge (2), which container includes a floor (3) and a circumferential extending edge (5) projecting from the floor (3) and terminating in a curled edge (6), which circumferentially extending edge (5) includes at least one wall section (7) deformed towards the inside of the closure and which formes a detent intended to embrace the headed or curled edge (2) of a container (1), characterized in that a section of the circumference of a tear off flap (4) integrally formed with the floor is separated by a not-rectilinearly extending slot (11) which extends through the closure (3) from the remainder of the closure floor, and in that the closure floor (3) is recessed at the area (12) of the tear off flap (4), in that the tear off flap (4) is defined by the nonlinearly extending slot (11) and a groove (13) interconnecting the two ends of the slot and the outer side of the tear off flap (4) is aligned with the outer side of the not deformed part of the closure floor (3) and the seat (11) extends stepped thereto seen in direction towards the inside of the closure.
