Claims (18)

1. Siliciumdioxidbaseret sol, der har en S-værdi i intervallet fra 15 til 25 %, molforhold Si:AI i intervallet fra 20:1 til 50:1, molforhold Si:X, hvor X = alkalimetal, i intervallet fra 3:1 til 17:1, Si02-indhold på mindst 5 vægt-% og indeholdende si-liciumdioxid-baserede partikler med et specifikt overfladeareal på mindst 300 m2/g.
2. Siliciumdioxidbaseret sol ifølge krav 1, hvor den siliciumdioxidbaserede sol har et molforhold Si:X i intervallet fra 4:1 til 15:1.
3. Siliciumdioxidbaseret sol ifølge krav 1, hvor den siliciumdioxidbaserede sol har et molforhold Si:X i intervallet fra 5:1 til 10:1.
4. Siliciumdioxidbaseret sol ifølge ethvert af kravene 1 til 3, hvor den siliciumdioxidbaserede sol har en S-værdi er i intervallet fra 17 til 24 %.
5. Siliciumdioxidbaseret sol ifølge et af kravene 1 til 4, hvor den siliciumdioxidbaserede sol indeholder siliciumdioxidbaserede partikler med et specifikt overfladeareal fra 700 til 950 m2/g.
6. Siliciumdioxidbaseret sol ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, hvor den siliciumdioxidbaserede sol har et Si02-indhold i intervallet fra 6 til 15 vægt-%.

10. Siliciumdioxidbaseret sol ifølge krav 1, hvor de siliciumdioxidbaserede partikler er overflademodificeret med aluminium.
11. Siliciumdioxidbaseret sol ifølge krav 1, hvor den siliciumdioxidbaserede sol har et molforhold Si:AI i intervallet fra 25:1 til 35:1.
12. Siliciumdioxidbaseret sol ifølge krav 1, hvor den siliciumdioxidbaserede sol opretholder et specifikt overfladeareal på mindst 300 m2/g i mindst 3 måneder ved opbevaring ved 20 °C i mørke og ikke-omrørte betingelser.
13. Siliciumdioxidbaseret sol ifølge krav 11, hvor den siliciumdioxidbaserede sol opretholder et specifikt overfladeareal på mindst 700 m2/g i mindst 3 måneder ved opbevaring ved 20 °C i mørke og ikke-omrørtee betingelser.
14. Fremgangsmåde til fremstilling af papir, som omfatter: (i) at tilvejebringe en vandig suspension omfattende cellulosefibre; (ii) at tilsætte en eller flere drænings- og retentionshjælpemidler omfattende en siliciumdioxidbaseret sol til suspensionen; og (iii) at afvande den opnåede suspension for at tilvejebringe et ark eller en bane af papir; hvor solen er en siliciumdioxidbaseret sol ifølge ethvert af kravene 1 til 12.
15. Fremgangsmåden ifølge krav 14, hvor drænings- og retentionshjælpemidlerne omfatter kationisk stivelse.
16. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 14 eller 15, hvor drænings- og retentionshjælpemidlerne omfatter en kationisk syntetisk polymer.
17. Fremgangsmåde ifølge ethvert af kravene 14 til 16, hvor drænings- og retentionshjælpemidlerne omfatter en anionisk polymer.
18. Fremgangsmåde ifølge ethvert af kravene 14 til 17, hvor den omfatter tilsætning af en kationisk koaguleringsmiddel til suspensionen.
