Beskyttelsesfilm omfattende et papirsubstrat, på hvilket mindst en overflade er belagt med et overfladebehandlingslag indeholdende mindst e vandopløselig polymerrygrad, kendetegnet ved, at den vandopløselige polymerrygrad har hydro-xylfunktioner, af hvilke i det mindste nogle er blevet reageret i forvejen med mindst et organisk molekyle, der indeholder en vinylfunktion og en aldehydfunktion.

Beskyttelsesfilm ifølge krav 1, kendetegnet ved, at den vandopløselige polymer med hydroxylfunktioner er valgt fra gruppen omfattende polyvinylalkohol, polyetylenglykol, polyetylenoxid, polyvinylamin, stivelse, stivelsesester, stivelsesæter, karboxymetylcellulose, karboxymetylcelluloseæter, karboxymetylcellulo-seester, chitosan, xanthan, eller polyakrylamid.
3. Beskyttelsesfilm ifølge krav 1 eller 2, kendetegnet ved, at den vandopløselige polymer med hydroxylfunktioner er PVA.
4. Beskyttelsesfilm ifølge krav 1, 2 eller 3, kendetegnet ved, at det organiske molekyle har den generelle formel (I) R1R3R40- eller (II) R1RsO-, hvor R1 repræsenterer en aldehyd, R3 repræsenterer en lineær eller forgrenet, eventuelt substitueret C1...C20 alkenylkæde, og R4 repræsenterer en karbonylgruppe (C=0).
5. Beskyttelsesfilm ifølge ethvert af de foregående krav, kendetegnet ved, at en gruppe omfattende vinylfunktion er valgt fra følgende gruppe: - vinyl, - ally I, - akryl, - metakryl, - 4-pentekryl, og - 10-undecenyl.
6. Beskyttelsesfilm ifølge ethvert af de foregående krav, kendetegnet ved, at mængden af overfladebehandlingsmiddel med den vandopløselige rygrad er mellem 1 og 2 mg/m2. 2
7. Beskyttelsesfilm ifølge ethvert af de foregående krav, kendetegnet ved, at mængden af overfladebehandlingsmiddel med den vandopløselige polymerrygrad er fra 0,01 til 100% af det samlede vægt af overfladebehandlingslaget.
8. Beskyttelsesfilm ifølge ethvert af de foregående krav, kendetegnet ved, at papirsubstratet er pergamynpapir med en gramvægt mellem 50 og 150 g/m2.
