Abstract

In the renovation of an existing roofing 10 from which an air-vent duct 11 extends upwards, a fully-covering, continuous surfacing is laid on the existing roofing 10. Enclosing the existing air-vent duct 11 an air-vent hood 20 is fitted, which has a substantially tubular part 21 and a circumferential flange 22 extending outwards from the lowermost end of the tubular part 21. The air-vent hood 20 is placed with the bottom side of its circumferential flange 22 bearing against the top side of the existing roofing 10 prior to the laying of the fully covering, continuous new surfacing. During or following laying of the new, fully covering, continuous surfacing, it is made to form a seal against, firstly, the top side of the existing roofing 10 and, secondly, the top side of the outward-jutting, circumferential flange 22 of the air- vent hood 20. With this renovation, a renovation of the existing roofing, replacement of the possibly demolished or destroyed existing air-vent duct with a new air-vent hood and a reliable and durably stable seal between this new air-vent hood and the new, fully covering, continuous surfacing are simultaneously achieved. <IMAGE>
