Abstract

A pharmaceutical preparation which gives slow release of the active constituent(s). The primary constituent is pinacidil (N''-cyano-N-4-pyridyl-N'-1,2,2- trimethylpropylguanidine), and the delayed release of the active constituent(s) is achieved by dividing the contents of the active constituent(s) in the preparation into at least two portions each of which is microencapsulated in its own material which becomes permeable or is dissolved at different pH values.
