Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un tratamiento para desórdenes relacionados con la deficiencia de estrógenos en mujeres que presentan dichos desórdenes mientras están bajo tratamiento con un fármaco que previene la síntesis del estrógeno endógeno. Dichos fármacos son, por ej., fármacos anti-cancerígenos tales como los inhibidores de la aromatasa. La invención radica en el uso de tibolona que presenta una acción beneficiosa inesperada en este grupo específico de pacientes, puesto que no estimula las mamas mientras que previene la pérdida de la masa ósea y alivia los desórdenes climatéricos, en un grupo de pacientes en el que esta situación es más complicada que en cualquier otro grupo, debido a la naturaleza del tratamiento concomitante del cáncer (la carencia de estrógeno circulante produce una mayor severidad en los desórdenes y la falta de efecto en el receptor de estrógeno aumenta el riesgo asociado con la estimulación estrogénica de las mamas una vez que se administran compuestos tipo estrógeno).
