Abstract

Aislamiento y caracterización de secuencias de nucleótidos que codifican nuevas proteínas insecticidas secretadas hacia el espacio extracelular de Bacillus thuringiensis y cepas relacionada. Las proteínas se aíslan a partir de sobrenadantes de cultivos de Bacillus thuringiensis y cepas relacionada y presentan actividad insecticida contra insectos coleópteros incluyendo escarabajo de papa de Colorado (Lymantria dispar) y gusanos de la raíz de maíz del sur (Diabrotica undecimpunctata). Se describen proteínas insecticidas codificadas por secuencias de nucleótidos que se hibridizan con las secuencias de nucleótidos aisladas y caracterizadas. También se describen métodos para obtener y usar las células transgénicas y plantas que contienen la nueva secuencia de nucleótidos de la invención.
