Abstract

Each pilot interference of the signal instance can be estimated by disseminating the data samples with a disseminating sequence to the signal instance, channeling the de-disseminated data to provide pilot symbols, filtering the pilot symbols to estimate the channel response to the signal instance, and multiply the estimated channel response with the dissemination sequence. Estimates of the pilot interference due to a plurality of multi-directional interferers are accumulated to derive the total pilot interference, which is subtracted from the data samples to provide pilot-canceled data samples. These samples are then processed to derive de-modulated data for each of at least one (desired) signal instance in the received signal.
