Abstract

Un aparato de tambor giratorio para el mezclado y procesamiento de materiales, el aparato de tambor giratorio que comprende: un tambor giratorio (12) dispuesto con la longitud del tambor y el eje de rotación del tambor que se extiende a lo largo de la horizontal; una entrada en un primer punto en el tambor (12) para recibir materiales antes de mezclar y/o procesar; un tornillo (14) dentro del tambor (12) para mezclar los materiales mientras los transporta longitudinalmente a lo largo del tambor (12), en donde el tornillo (14) incluye una cuchilla helicoidal que se extiende a lo largo del tambor (12) con el borde externo de la cuchilla helicoidal fijado a la superficie interna del tambor (12) de modo que el material pueda transportarse y mezclarse en volúmenes separados (16) entre cada vuelta de la cuchilla de tornillo (14); una salida en un segundo punto a lo largo del tambor para la descarga de materiales después del mezclado y/o procesamiento; y una pluralidad de dispositivos de mezclado (18) para promover el mezclado del material en cada uno de los volúmenes separados (16) de material cuando el material es transportado a lo largo del tornillo (14), en donde la pluralidad de dispositivos de mezclado (18) están separados a lo largo de la cuchilla del tornillo (14), y en donde hay al menos un dispositivo de mezclado (18) para cada vuelta de la cuchilla de tornillo (14).
