Abstract
Está dirigida hacia un proceso para producir zeaxantina el cual incluye la mutación de microorganismos de algas, la selección de entre dichos microorganismos mutados de un microorganismo capaz de producir zeaxantina, el cultivo del microorganismo seleccionado en un medio efectivo para producir zeaxantina y la recuperación de la zeaxantina producida por el microorganismo seleccionado. La presente invención suministra también microorganismos capaces de producir zeaxantina, formulaciones conteniendo zeaxantina producida mediante el proceso revelado y el uso de tales formulaciones para intensificar la pigmentación y para reducir el daño causado por especies reactivas al oxígeno y moléculas fototóxicas.It is directed towards a process to produce zeaxanthin which includes the mutation of algae microorganisms, the selection of among said mutated microorganisms a microorganism capable of producing zeaxanthin, the cultivation of the selected microorganism in an effective medium to produce zeaxanthin and the recovery of zeaxanthin produced by the selected microorganism.
