Abstract

Se proporciona una cubierta protectora para un casco de caballo, que comprende una herradura que tiene bordes convexos y cóncavos y un tejido de fibra polimérica inmerso en una resina polimérica adherida a la herradura. El tejido se extiende más allá del borde convexo de la herradura- Cuando se monta la herradura al casco del caballo, el tejido se extiende sobre la parte exterior del casco. La cubierta protectora está asegurada al casco utilizando un adhesivo estructural acrílico entre el casco y la herradura y entre el tejido de fibra polimérico y la parte exterior del casco- El tejido de fibra polimérica es preferentemente una poliolefina, y de forma particularmente preferida es polietileno de calada. La resina polimérica es preferentemente poliuretano.
