Abstract
Se obtienen concentrado de éster de trans-xantofila con un contenido de éster de trans-xantofila de por lo menos cuatro veces mayor y de preferencia nueve veces mayor que el contenido de éster cis-xantofila. Concentrados de éster de xantofila teniendo un total de contenido de éster de xantofila de por lo menos el 40% peso/peso y de preferencia mayor que el 55% peso/peso también son obtenidos. Un método para obtener el concentrado de éster de trans-xantofila de alta pureza que incluye poner en contacto con el material botánico conteniendo ésteres de xantofilas con un solvente hidrocarburo por el suficiente tiempo para extraer los ésteres de xantofila del material botánico, separando el solvente hidrocarburo y extracto disuelto en el del material botánico extraído, evaporando el solvente hidrocarburo del extracto disuelto para obtener un concentrado crudo de éster de xantofila, mezclando el concentrado crudo con un alcohol a temperatura aproximadamente ambiental para disolver impurezas no xantofilas y ésteres de cis-xantofila del concentrado crudo para obtener un concentrado purificado de éster de trans-xantofila. Al utilizar solamente las corolas de las flores de marigol, concentrado de éster de luteina de alta pureza son obtenidos sin residuos de pesticidas en el concentrado a niveles de detección de partes por billón.Trans-xanthophyll ester concentrate with a trans-xanthophyll ester content of at least four times higher and preferably nine times higher than the cis-xanthophyll ester content are obtained. Xanthophyll ester concentrates having a total xanthophyll ester content of at least 40% w / w and preferably greater than 55% w / w are also obtained. By using only the marigol flower corollas, high purity lutein ester concentrate is obtained without pesticide residues in the concentrate at detection levels of parts per billion.
