Definitions

  • the invention relates to a profile bar for blind and / or casement frames for external windows or doors, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the foam covering is relatively rigid and consists of a material as it is generally referred to as integral foam.
  • integral foam contributes significantly to the strength of the rod, since integral foams are much denser and stronger than insulating foams.
  • integral foam is pore-free in its surface areas, so that a co-extrusion process does not have to be used to produce a pore-free surface layer.
  • thermoplastic for the integral foam of the known profile bars is preferably a PVC.
  • PVC polyvinyl ethylene
  • This term is not meant in a narrow sense, but is also intended to include mixtures of PVC with additives and / or other plastics, such as are used in window production.
  • it should also include the plastic polyblend made of PVC and chlorinated polyolefin, which is widely used in window manufacturing.
  • the material should not be soft, flexible, but hard and as impact-resistant as possible.
  • the good material connection between the inner skin of the integral foam sheathing and the metal core provides particularly good resistance to deformations, which can otherwise easily occur due to one-sided heating. Because of the foam structure within the plastic profile, the known profile rod also has particularly good heat-insulating properties.
  • a certain disadvantage of the known profile bars and the window and / or door frames made from them is that they have to be handled with care, especially on the construction site, since despite the relatively hard, largely to completely non-porous design of the outer layer, these can easily be impacted and bumps become unsightly.
  • the reason for this is that the outer layer is relatively thin and is supported from the center of the material only by a foam structure of considerably lower strength. This problem can be eliminated by making the plastic jacket solid in a known manner. Then, on the one hand, the heat insulation becomes worse and, on the other hand, the plastic requirement is considerably greater.
  • the invention is based on the task of making the PVC integral space in the edge region of the exposed and visible parts even more impact-resistant and impact-resistant.
  • the use value can be increased considerably by additional edge reinforcement.
  • the most stressed parts of the rod or frame can be made of high-quality, high-strength plastic and are therefore correspondingly hard and strong. Since the edges are the main exposed parts, it is sufficient if the compact plastic layer according to the invention surrounds the edges. However, since the material consumption of compact plastic is relatively low, it is preferred that the outer visible surface and preferably also the inner visible surface is continuously coated with the compact plastic.
  • the compact plastic covers the generally flat visible surface up to the protruding edge that delimits this visible surface.
  • a much higher strength, especially in the highly stressed edge area, is achieved, however, by leading the compact plastic layer around the edge, as is preferred.
  • the compact plastic is preferably a PVC in the sense explained above.
  • the thickness of the compact plastic layer may vary depending on the circumstances. As a rule, it will be between 0.1 and 0.8 mm. It is preferably from about 0.2 to 0.4 mm.
  • the compact plastic layer on the outer visible surface is preferably colored and light and weather resistant.
  • the coloring is expediently a wood color, for example a mahogany or an oak tone.
  • the compact plastic layer is preferably coated on the outside with an advantageously multi-layer lacquer layer which also contains UV stabilizers.
  • the compact plastic layer is additionally provided with colored base and top coat layers on the outside, that is to say the weather side, which are kept in the same basic tone as the coloring of the plastic layer, so that minor lacquer injuries, such as occur during the transport and installation of door and window frames and their use, do not make any damage visible.
  • the outermost lacquer layer is preferably one made of colorless lacquer which contains ultraviolet stabilizers.
  • the invention is not limited to the profile rod shape shown in the drawing.
  • the profile bars shown here are shown in a very simplified manner.
  • the invention can also be used for the window systems marketed by the applicant under the registered trademark Combidur in the Federal Republic of Germany for years or for windows and profile bars according to German utility model 19 77 561.
  • the hollow profile rod 1 shown in cross section in FIG. 1 for window or door frames has an inner rectangular hollow profile rod 5 made of light metal, the wall thickness of which is, for example, 2 mm.
  • This hollow profile rod is sheathed by a PVC integral foam layer 4 which is integrally connected to the metal hollow profile rod 5, that is to say it adheres firmly to it.
  • the metal hollow profile rod 5 was coated with an adhesion promoter customary and known for such purposes prior to extruding the integral foam layer.
  • the PVC integral foam layer 4 has a largely pore-free inner skin 3, the thickness of which is, for example, 0.2 or 0.3 mm. Inside, the integral foam layer 4, as can be seen from FIG. 2, is highly porous. Here it therefore has a fine, essentially closed-pore sponge structure, the pores of which become smaller towards the outer surface and almost completely disappear in the vicinity of the outer surface, in order to form the practically pore-free outer skin 2 of the integral foam layer 4 there.
  • the thickness of the precisely profiled integral foam layer is expediently around 4 to 10 mm.
  • the integral foam layer or casing 4 forms two likewise hollow stop ribs 9 and 10.
  • the hollow profile rod 1 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has, on the left or outer side in FIG. 1, a layer 7 made of a compact plastic coextruded with the integral foam profile 4 reinforced by the light metal profile 5 and having an embossed pattern corresponding to a wood grain on its outer surface 8 has and is coated with one or more lacquer layers 6, the uppermost of which is preferably a clear lacquer layer which contains UV stabilizers.
  • the layer 7 has a thickness of, for example, 0.3 mm and consists of a wood-colored polyvinyl chloride which has been specially selected and composed in terms of strength, weather and light resistance and hardness.
  • a suspension PVC with a K value of 65 to 70 is preferred.
  • a weather-resistant impact-resistant component such as.
  • the hard protective layer made of compact plastic extends over the entire outer visible surface and in particular also the two edges delimiting this visible surface.
  • the edge protection on the inside 11 of the profile bar or window frame is even better than on the outside, since there the compact plastic layer 15 coextruded with the integral foam profile 4 is guided around the protruding edges 13 and 14 that delimit the inside surface is.
  • the end face 16 of the stop rib 10 is also completely covered with the compact plastic.
  • the lower end face 17 of the profile bar in FIG. 1 is also covered along the edge 13 to a width of about 5 mm with the compact plastic.
  • the compact plastic is as useful as the integral foam profile of white color. Basically, of course, other colors are also possible here, for example a wood color, which is advantageously also used for the outer compact plastic layer 7.
  • the profile bar 20 is part of a window sash frame, which interacts with a frame 25 indicated by dash-dotted lines in the manner shown in FIG. 2.
  • the outside or weather side is shown on the right.
  • a compact plastic layer 26 which here, like the compact plastic layer 15, is guided on the inside of the profiled rod 1 around the protruding edges 27 and 28 delimiting the outer visible surface.
  • the compact plastic layer 26, since it is also exposed to the weather and sunlight, is expediently designed with respect to the choice of material, protective coating, coloring and the like, as is the compact plastic layer 7 of the rod 1.
  • the compact plastic layer is not continuous on the inside on the left in FIG. 3, but is merely designed as edge protection.
  • edge 30 on the inner visible surface to a width of about 15 mm and on the subsequent end face 31 to a width of about 6 mm, as can be seen from the drawing, coated with compact plastic 32.
  • the rib 24 is completely coated in the region of its two protruding edges 35 and 36.
  • the coating 37 made of compact plastic extends here on the inner visible side over the entire extent of the rib 24 and the entire surface 38 which points downward in FIG. 3.
  • the surface 39 of the rib 24 which points to the right in FIG. 3 is also still in the region the edge 36 coated to a width of about 4 mm.
  • the compact plastic advantageously has the same, preferably white, color as the integral foam profile 22, while the color of the compact plastic 26 on the outside can differ.
  • attachment of the compact plastic layer offers very good surface protection, in particular edge protection.
  • the uncoated central area of the inner visible surface is also well protected, since in particular blows usually hit the edge first and are caught there by the compact plastic.
  • the profile bar 1 can be manufactured as follows. By coextrusion with the white-colored PVC integral foam profile 4, the outer visible side of the profile rod 1 is provided with a preferably wood-colored layer 7 made of compact PVC with a thickness of 0.3 mm, while the inside with the compact PVC layer 15 from white color and the same thickness.
  • the outer compact layer is then preferably further decorated by hot stamping it and treating it with lacquer layers to achieve a wood grain decor.
  • a primer layer with a thickness of 5 to 20 p is first applied, which is printed on using indirect gravure printing. This is followed by two grain prints to obtain the wood fiber pattern, each of the same thickness. Finally, it is printed with a colorless top coat, which is provided with UV stabilizers. This top coat also has a thickness of 5 to 20 ⁇ and optimizes the weather resistance of the colored paint.
  • the compact layer is kept in a color that essentially corresponds to that of the primer. It forms a mechanically resistant surface and leaves no white PVC spots visible even if the salmon layers are damaged.
  • the hot stamping has a depth of e.g. B. 0.25 mm and is achieved by introducing the profile in a nip, which is formed by a lower support roller and an upper, heated roller, which carries the embossed pattern raised.
  • the temperature of the embossing roller is 150 to 200 ° C.
  • the profile rod can be extruded with high output, since the internal aluminum part represents an internal calibration that supports the profile in its dimensions and contributes to the internal cooling. Because of this "internal calibration", the manufactured profile bar remains true to size despite the co-extrusion and, due to the aluminum stiffening, maintains a high level of stability against torsional and bending stress, which can also be caused by heating on one side.
  • the rod is mitred in the appropriate length and connected at the corners in a known other suitable manner.
  • the integral skin 2 turns out somewhat thinner during the coextrusion under the compact layer 7 than if there were no compact layer available. Nevertheless, in the case of the invention, the strength, in particular the hardness, that is the resistance to the formation of permanent impressions due to impacts and impacts, is significantly increased in the region of the compact layer.
  • a particular advantage of the invention is that when coextruded, the compact layer can be kept thicker in the immediate edge area than in the two areas adjoining it without significant additional effort.
