Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method and a device for wet extinguishing, in particular hard coal coke, in which the coke is brought to an extinguishing tower on an open fire-fighting vehicle and is sprinkled with water in an extinguishing hood forming the lower part of the fire-extinguishing tower, which consists of pipes of an extinguishing spray with essentially uniform pressure is brought out, whereby the quenching fumes are discharged to the outside through a chimney connected to the quenching hood.
  • the coke When extinguishing, the coke absorbs water because the extinguishing water can penetrate the pores of hot coke unlike cold coke.
  • the requirements of the smelters for the coke pieces have become lower because a coke with a grain size of over 25 mm is considered suitable for iron production.
  • the requirements for the final water content of the coke are still strict.
  • the customers demand compliance with a specified minimum final water content in the coke, not least because exceeding the water content leads to losses of usable coke mass. Maintaining the relatively low final water content in coke is more difficult with fine coke than with coarse coke.
  • the object of the invention is to extinguish the coke in such a way that low emission values in the extinguishing swaths can be maintained or even fallen below.
  • this is achieved in that the task of the extinguishing water is started before the fire truck is retracted into the fire hood, after the fire truck is driven into the fire hood in an initial fire-extinguishing phase, the fire water is increased very quickly to the maximum amount and thereby a cross-section of Extinguishing hood covering the extinguishing water is generated, and then the extinguishing water quantity is reduced again during a considerably longer final extinguishing phase compared to the initial extinguishing phase, the maximum extinguishing water quantity given in the time unit corresponding to the extinguishing water quantity given in the final extinguishing phase. how about 2: 1 behaves.
  • the extinguishing water quantity is very quickly increased to a maximum value after the extinguishing car has been set up in the initial extinguishing phase of coke extinguishing, the dust particles are washed out of the resulting water vapor in a very dense water curtain, which in turn prevents dust particles from entering the area of the extinguishing tower above the fire hood.
  • the amount of water can be greatly reduced because after the coke surface has been extinguished, no more dust particles are produced.
  • the fine coke is also less moistened, so that the final water content can be maintained or signed.
  • the lower part of an extinguishing tower, generally designated 1, is designed as a fire truck hall 2.
  • the fire truck with the fire 4 shown generally and schematically at 3 in FIG. 2 can be driven in.
  • Above the fire truck hall 2 extends the lower part of the fire tower 1 forming extinguishing hood 5, in which a plurality of horizontal pipes 6 are laid, which have nozzles 7 on their upper side for the discharge of extinguishing water.
  • the tubes 6 run in the longitudinal direction of the fire truck track in the fire truck hall 2 as shown in FIG. 2 larger than the one on the right. This ensures that the coke is evenly sprinkled when it is extinguished.
  • the pipes 6 are supplied with extinguishing water from pipes 8 or 9 at right angles thereto and a riser 10.
  • the riser pipe 10 is connected via a bend 11 to a down pipe 12, which can be supplied with fire-fighting water tanks 15, 16 via branch pipes 13, 14.
  • the extinguishing water tanks 15, 16 are arranged above the hood 5 next to the chimney 17 adjoining it. They are fed with fresh water from a common line 18 via branch lines 19, 20.
  • the extinguishing spray, generally designated 26, is always subjected to the same pressure from the two extinguishing water containers 15, 16.
  • Quick-closing valves are used for this purpose, which are shown schematically at 22 and 23 in FIG.
  • a control element 24 is seated in the connecting pipe bend 11. This is a control flap which can change the flow cross section and is adjustable with an electric drive.
  • the flap position is changed with the electric adjustment device so that in a second phase significantly less extinguishing water escapes, which is shown by the height of the nozzle jets at 31 in FIG. 1.
  • the system is designed as follows:
