Abstract

L'escabeau comporte une série de marches pivotantes (40) et une plate-forme supérieure (38) articulée entre les deux cadres (10, 12). Chacune des marches (40) est articulée à sa partie postérieure, aux montants (14) du cadre antérieur (10) autour d'un axe de pivotement (48) situé en arrière par rapport à un barreau d'appui (16). Une tringle (50) est disposée le long de la face intérieure d'un des montants (14) et est reliée aux marches (40) par des articulations (52) situées entre les axes de pivote­ ment (48) et les barreaux (16). La tringle (54) est reliée à la plate­ forme (38) par une bielle (62). Lorsqu'on fait passer les deux cadres (10, 12) de la position écartée d'utilisation à la position aplatie de rangement, les marches (40) et la plate-forme (38) pivotent à l'unisson, grâce à la tringle d'accouplement (50), en passant de la position horizontale à une position escamotée entre les montants (14) du cadre antérieur (10), et inversement. Lorsque les marches (40) sont horizontales, leurs parties anté­ rieures prennent appui sur les barreaux (16).
