Abstract

Procédé permettant, dans un four, de faire avancer et de déplacer un combustible composé de matériaux combustibles en découpant, broyant, comprimant ou en traitant par tout autre procédé semblable, du bois, de la tourbe, de la paille, etc., p.ex. sous la forme de copeaux, briquettes ou boulettes. Le combustible est alimenté depuis le conteneur à combustible dans le four au travers d'une ouverture aménagée dans la paroi du four à l'aide d'un tube (2, 3) placé à l'extérieur du four, relié à l'ouverture, et à l'aide d'une spirale (5) qui tourne dans ce tube. Le combustible termine sa course sur une auge (8) ouverte sur sa partie supérieure et placée dans le four, et de l'air est insufflé au travers d'orifices (7) aménagés dans les parois de l'auge, dans le combustible. Le combustible allumé est déplacé vers l'avant dans l'auge (8), de préférence poussé par le nouveau combustible qui entre dans le four depuis l'extérieur, sans avoir recours à des moyens agitateurs du combustible dans cette partie de l'auge. Au moins vers l'extrémité de l'auge, parmi le combustible partiellement brûlé et qui brûle encore et ayant une teneur élevée de cendre, un agitateur en forme de tige (9) torsadé en spirale et fixé à l'axe en quelques points tourne de manière à remuer le combustible et les cendres et réduire les inconvénients que présente la formation d'un gâteau de cendres, et faire avancer le combustible.
