Definitions
- the invention relates to a roller shutter made of profiled bars hinged to one another on their long sides and delimiting between joint joints, one long side of which has an edge web as an articulated joint on the inside of a layer which is different from the profiled bar and has a cross-sectional groove-like shape with the groove space, into which the formed as a joint counterpart engages other longitudinal side of the adjacent profile bar of the same cross section.
- Roller shutters of this type are known with light metal profile bars or with sheet metal hollow fillets, the layer mentioned on the inside of the channel-like formation consisting of plastic with which the metal is coated. This plastic layer adhering to the metal should avoid rattling noises during the rolling-in or rolling-up process, but also when the roller shutter is closed. Such roller shutters were also referred to as roller shutters.
- a disadvantage of this layer remains that it is difficult to manufacture and the function of the roller shutter equipped with it is only slightly improved.
- the inventor has set himself the goal of designing a roller shutter of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it is simple to manufacture and, in addition to improving the noise damping, also performs other functions.
- the layer which is different from the profile bar is formed by an insert profile, approximately U-shaped in cross-section, made of non-metallic material, which has at least on one U-leg a bead protruding into the joint as a sealing element.
- the insert profile should be in one piece with the bead and the latter should consist of a material that is softer than the material of the insert profile.
- the joint lining according to the invention thus consists of a one-piece, non-metallic material which is inserted into the joint and has two different hardnesses, the harder part, namely the U-shaped profile, preferably being very thin-walled and being approximately form-fittingly adapted to the joint socket of the profile bar.
- the insert profile on the U-leg closest to the outside of the roller shutter is provided with a nose protruding therefrom towards the outside, which is molded onto the bead and placed on a strip of the profile bar.
- the bar of the profile bar has a groove directed towards the interior of the joint, in which a hook bar of the insert profile engages.
- This configuration ensures a positive fit of the insert profile in the joint part and also a relatively simple assembly by lateral or axial insertion; a coating process - as known from the prior art - is completely eliminated here.
- the insert profile it is supported on the inside of the roller shutter - that is, opposite the bead described - on an angled portion pointing from the joint part towards the inside of the joint - the edge web.
- the U-leg resting on the edge web merges into a bearing part protruding therefrom, which receives the hook-like joint piece of the adjacent profile bar.
- the bearing part of the insert profile it has proven to be advantageous for the bearing part of the insert profile to have a cross-sectionally curved tongue which partially surrounds the edge web and merges into a bead of softer material; in this case there are two beads, namely one bead on the outside of the roller shutter and the other bead on the inside, both made of softer material than the U-shaped insert profile connecting them.
- roller shutter profile bars which are preferably made of metal and are pushed into one another, when the roller shutter is being rolled up or when it is being rolled out, and on the other hand ensure that the joint joints are sealed when the roller shutter is closed;
- the soft sealing pads significantly increase the heat-insulating effect of the roller shutter, since the insulating air layer enclosed between the window and roller shutter is not replaced by leaky joint joints for cold outside air that blows past the outside of the roller shutter.
- a preferred embodiment of the roller shutter according to the invention is characterized in that the hook-like joint part protrudes from a transverse wall of the profile bar approximately parallel to its outer surface and is provided on at least one side - preferably on both sides - with a shoulder-like shoulder as a stop for the bead or the beads .
- a roller shutter 10 which is not shown in its entirety for reasons of clarity, is composed of a plurality of profiled bars 11 of identical cross section, the longitudinal edges 13, 15 of which, as shown in the installation position of the roller shutter 10 on its outer surface E, run parallel to one another and an articulated joint between them 17 generate. This runs at right angles to the closing or rolling direction x for the roller shutter 10 and is much narrower in the closed position (height h 1 in FIG. 2) than during that rolling operation (height h 2 in FIG. 1).
- the body of the profile rod 11 is a hollow profile with a profile chamber 24 bounded by two longitudinal walls 19, 20 and two transverse walls (21, 22) connecting these.
- the longitudinal wall 20 lies in the installed position on the outside; its outer surface is part of the previously mentioned roller shutter outer surface E.
- the lower transverse wall 21 of the profile chamber 24 in FIG. 1 is overlapped on both sides by extension legs 26 and 27 of the longitudinal walls 19 and 20, respectively. These extension legs 26, 27 and that transverse wall 21 form a U-shaped channel 29, the interior 30 of which is partially overlapped by an edge web 32 of the inner extension leg 26.
- an inwardly directed angle bar 34 is formed; whose transition into the extension leg 27 is that longitudinal edge 13 accompanying the joint 17.
- the adjacent longitudinal edge 15 of the following profile bar 11 lies at the transition of the longitudinal profile wall 20 into the transverse wall 22; from the latter, parallel to the longitudinal wall 20 - and offset from it by a dimension b, producing a shoulder-like shoulder 36 - a profile comb 38 with an inwardly curved hook end 40.
- This profile comb 38 is provided with louvers 42 which, in the closed position of the roller shutter 10 (FIG. 2), are covered by the outer extension leg 27 of the adjacent profile bar (11 in FIG. 1).
- U-groove 29 In the U-groove 29 is an insert profile 50. i. w. U-shaped cross-section inserted, one leg 52 is supported on the inside on the edge web 32 of the profile rod 11 and the other leg 55 merges into an outwardly facing nose 56 to which a bead 60 is formed; this lies against the outside of the angle bar 34.
- the angle bar 34 delimits with the extension leg 27 a groove 35 (FIG. 2) into which a hook bar 58 of the insert profile 50 engages, which is defined by the hook bar 58 and that nose 56 on the angle bar 34; the base curvature 48 of the plastic profile 50 can thus stand at a distance i from the adjacent transverse wall 21 of this profile rod 11 without reducing its seat in the profile rod 11.
- FIG. 1 illustrates - the hook end 40 of the Benach - disclosed profiled bar 11 as a bearing, when the section bars 11 are coupled during the shutter actuator into each other. 2, the hook end 40 is at a distance q from its bearing 53, the shoulder-like shoulder 34 of the profile rod 11a having that hook end 40 (FIG. 1) abutting the bead 60 on the other profile rod 11.
- the hook end 40 thus migrates in the profile space 51 from a hanging position according to FIG. 1 into a closed position according to FIG. 2, which is also shown in the exemplary embodiment 70 in FIG. 3.
- the bearing 53 of the insert profile 50a for the hook end 40 merges into a curved attachment tongue 54 which partially surrounds the edge web 32 of the profile rod 11 and which in turn ends in a bead 61.
- the roller shutter 70 is closed, the bead 61 - like bead 60 with an approximately rectangular cross section with a flat outside 62 - is seated on a shoulder-like shoulder 36 .
- the insert profile 50 can be made from a wide variety of non-metallic materials and in all cases consists in one piece of two materials of different hardness; the bead (s) 60, 61 is / are homogeneously molded onto the harder U-profile and seals / seal the joint joints 17 when the roller shutters 10, 70 are closed, and thanks to their softer material they easily nestle against the longitudinal edges 13, 15.
