Abstract
Un viscosimètre à piston et cylindre est destiné à l'étude des propriétés rhéologiques des fluides newtoniens et des plastiques de Bingham. Un piston sous-dimensionné (18) est accéléré de l'état de repos en descendant au travers d'un cylindre creux (6) d'un bloc cylindre (1) contenant un fluide (7) à l'étude, par l'action d'une bielle (19) de piston entraînée par le haut à l'aide d'un dispositif d'entraînement (50) du piston. La pression instantanée en avant du piston (18) et la vitesse instantanée de la bielle (19) du piston sont mesurées et enregistrées en phase pour déterminer la relation entre l'effort de cisaillement et la contrainte de cisaillement induite dans le fluide (7) sur toute la course du piston.
