Abstract

L'élément émetteur de lumière (24) disposé en lignes et en colonnes constitue l'élément unitaire dont est équipé le tableau d'affichage matriciel. L'élément comprend un ou plusieurs tubes à décharge (10, 11, 12). Pour un tableau restituant des images (texte ou vidéo) en couleur, la paroi interne de chacun des tubes est revêtue d'une substance fluorescente qui rayonne une couleur rouge, verte et bleue respectivement. En variant indépendamment l'intensité de la lumière émise par chacun des tubes colorés, on obtient à la sortie de l'élément (24) une lumière dont la longueur d'onde résultante peut s'étendre sur tout le spectre visible. L'invention peut être utilisée sur un tableau d'affichage disposé par exemple dans un stade ou lors de manifestations impliquant un grand nombre de personnes.
