Definitions
- the cabins of passenger lifts must be provided with a brake safety device which brakes the cabin when a predetermined maximum speed is exceeded.
- a speed limiter is attached in the elevator shaft or machine room, which is connected to the brake safety device via a rope.
- Known devices have the disadvantage that they often severely damage the guide rails of the elevator during the braking process and are then very difficult to remove from the braked position (from the catch). Furthermore, the known devices are too complicated and accordingly difficult to install, adjust, adjust and operate.
- FIG. 2 shows the brake safety device according to FIG. 1 in the braked state
- FIGS. 1 and 2 show a plan view of the device according to FIGS. 1 and 2,
- Fig. 4 is a side view of the second brake shoe.
- Fig. 5 shows a second embodiment of the second brake shoe.
- Fig. 6 shows a third embodiment of the second brake shoe.
- the brake safety device 1 comprises a housing 2 which is fastened to the frame 5 of the elevator car with two cross bars 3 and 4.
- An inclined guide 6 is provided on the housing 2, which has a smooth running surface or a toothing 7 in the lower part and a milled recess 8 adjoining it, in the upper part.
- a first brake shoe 9 is fastened by guide bolts with disc springs, which have threads at their ends, and with nuts 10 and 11 on the housing of the brake safety device. Between the brake shoe 9 and the housing there are two spring packs 12 and 13 as well as washers 14 and 15. The brake shoe 9 with its left surface according to FIG. 1 is in the unbraked state a few millimeters from the guide rail 16 for the elevator car away.
- a wedge-shaped, second brake shoe 17 is connected via a cable 18 to a speed limiting device, not shown, which is fastened in the elevator shaft and is not shown.
- the second brake shoe has a groove 18, into which two bolts engage, which are partially broken away in FIGS. 1 and 2 on the oblique guide 6 attached cover plate 19 are provided.
- a toothed roller 20 is arranged with a bore 21 provided concentrically with its circumference.
- a pin guided through the bore 21 has a smaller diameter than the bore 21 of the toothed roller 20, so that the axis of rotation thereof can be shifted within the opening and the second brake shoe.
- the milled indentation 8 provided in the inclined guide allows the toothed roller 20 to retreat precisely when the set brake pressure is reached, so that the brake shoes can effect the desired braking action with the aid of the spring assemblies 12 and 13.
- the wedge-shaped second brake shoe is kept free of frictional resistance in its movement in the direction of the arrow.
- the brake pressure is set beforehand by the number and position of the individual spring rings of the spring assemblies 12 and 13 and by the additional spacer rings 14 and 15. Thick spacer rings allow adjustment to the thickness of the rail 16, with thin diameters
- the pressure can be finely regulated.
- the advantage of the described safety brake device is that in the braking state according to FIG. 2, braking is performed by the surfaces of the first brake shoe 9 and the second brake shoe 17, since yes in the
- the toothed roller 20 does not touch the rail surface and the surface of the inclined guide 6 facing the second brake shoe. This prevents the guide rails of the elevator car from being damaged, as is often the case with the known brake safety devices.
- FIG. 3 shows a plan view of the brake safety device.
- the housing 2 with the braking organs is held in a laterally movable manner with a spring 23 with respect to the cabin frame.
- the housing of the brake safety device can align itself during the braking process according to the position of the rail. Due to the relative oblique movement of the second brake shoe in its guide 18 and the retraction of the first brake shoe 9 into the suspension 12, 13, a lateral movement of the housing 2 of the brake safety device, or also brake head, seen from the cabin frame takes place named instead.
- the second brake shoe 17 is shown with the stop plate 22.
- a stop screw 24 and a blocking screw 25 running transversely thereto are provided on the stop plate.
- the stop screw 24 prevents, due to unforeseen strong friction (eg due to existing damage to the rail profile) between the rail 16 and the brake shoe 17, wedging going beyond what is desired according to FIG. 2, the set position of the Stop screw 24 is fixed with the locking screw 25.
- the elevator car must be stopped with a brake safety device with a deceleration of between approximately 1.4 g and 0.2 g (in free fall without counterweight) from travel speeds of approximately 0.85 m / s.
- FIG. 5 shows a further embodiment 26 of the second brake shoe.
- This second brake shoe 26 also has a groove 27 into which two bolts provided on the cover plate 19 fastened to the inclined guide 6 engage.
- a metal body 30 provided with a central bore 29 is provided in an opening 28 of the second brake shoe.
- This metal body is movably supported in a pin 31 guided through the bore.
- the metal body 36 is provided with a rounded, polished surface 32.
- the metal body On the opposite side facing the guide rail 16, the metal body has teeth 33.
- the speed limiter in turn exerts a pull on the second brake shoe 26 upwards in the elevator shaft.
- the wedge-shaped second brake shoe 26 is now pulled upwards relative to the inclined guide until the pressure exerted on it perpendicular to the guide rail 16 of the elevator is so great that the toothing 33 engages in the
- the optimum brake pressure is achieved by suitable adjustment of the brake safety device with the aid of the spring rings and the spacer rings, the brake friction being exerted on the guide rail 16 by the front surface 34 of the second brake shoe.
- FIG. 6 shows a further exemplary embodiment of the invention, a solid brake element 36, preferably made of cast iron, being used in the central region of the second brake shoe 35.
- Brake element 36 protrudes slightly on both sides over the sides of the brake shoe 35. Openings are provided on both sides of this brake element 36 in the second brake shoe 35, in which toothed rollers 37 and 38 are movably mounted.
- a first indentation 40 is provided in an inclined guide 39 in the central region and a second indentation 41 is provided at the upper edge.
- This embodiment of the second brake shoe 36 is particularly suitable for very heavy elevator cars, since the effective braking surface on the braking element 36 is considerably larger than that of the second braking element according to FIG. 4, where the effective braking surface is shown in broken lines. 4, there would be a risk of damage to the second brake shoe if a second brake shoe was used, for example if it was made of gray cast iron, which risk would be avoided when using a second brake shoe as shown in FIG. 6 .
