- the sound waves striking the housing or flat components from the inside stimulate the vibratable parts to vibrate, which in turn are the cause of the machine noise emitted to the outside.
- the cup-shaped base part and cover plate are provided with holes. Through these holes, the noise build-up is reduced and the noise level inside the housing is reduced, but the abrasion caused by the guidance and the drive of the used carbon ribbon falls through the holes in the bottom of the base part and contaminates the machine parts underneath.

- the cover 15 has appropriately designed stiffening ribs 32, 33, 34 and 35, which also serve to support the winding 31.
- the supply spool 7 has a hub 36, which is wrapped by a shaped wire designed as a clamping lever 8 with two free legs 37 and 38.
- One leg 37 of this shaped wire is firmly anchored with the free end 39 in a recess 40 of the bottom part 13 of the cassette housing, while the other leg 38 is freely movable and has a rotatably mounted deflection roller 42 at its free end 41.
- the movable leg 38 moves away from the fixed leg 37 of the shaped wire in such a way that the static friction between the shaped wire and the hub 36 of the supply reel 7 is eliminated.
- This release of the supply spool 7 enables the ink ribbon 6 to be easily unwound from this supply spool 7. If the tension in the ink ribbon 6 subsides again, the movable leg 38 of the shaped wire swings back immediately into its starting position, whereby the supply reel 7 is braked again. Since rotation of the supply spool 7 is no longer possible, the ink ribbon 6 is always kept taut.

- the bearing pin 19 for the take-up spool 17 is movably arranged with an extension 62 in a continuous longitudinal slot 63 of the cover 15 arranged in the direction of displacement of the carrier plate 20, as a result of which the ribbon supply is indicated.
- the longitudinal slot 63 in the cover 15 has a circumferential collar 64 on the inside, which at the same time serves to support the winding 61 of the take-up reel 17.
- the transport roller 65 has a spike wheel 66 which engages with the winding 61 of the winding spool 17, and is on one end 67 with a hollow pin 68 on a collar 70 surrounding an opening 69 in the base 22 and at the other end 71 with a bearing bore 73 arranged centrally in a handwheel 72 for a centering pin 74 on the inside 75 of the cover 15.
- the end face 76 of the handwheel 72 on the transport roller 65 is provided with corrugations 77, a part of this end face 76 being arranged so as to protrude from a circular opening 78 in the cover 15. This makes it possible to rotate the transport roller 65 via the handwheel 72, which enables the ink ribbon 6 to be wound onto the take-up spool 17.
- the opening 78 in the cover 15 is located in a circular recess 79 on the cover edge 80 such that the end face 76 of the handwheel 72 does not protrude from the remaining surface of the cover 15.
- the stiffening rib 46 on the bottom 22 of the bottom part 13 is designed and arranged in such a way that the abrasion of the ink ribbon 6 which occurs when the sprocket 66 winds up cannot fall out of the openings 58, 59 and 25.
- the opening 69 is shielded from abrasion by the collar 70.
- the locking opening 57 in the bottom 22 of the bottom part 13 is shielded by a stiffening rib 81 which, on the one hand, is firmly connected to the stiffening rib 30 and, on the other hand, has an extension rib 82 arranged concentrically with the supply spool.
- the resilient leg 38 is slidably mounted on this extension rib 82, as a result of which (38) is easily movable due to the low friction.
- the carrier plate 20 is acted upon by a spring device in such a way that the winding 61 of the take-up spool 17 is always held in engagement with the sprocket wheel 66 of the transport roller 65.
- This spring device consists of a leg spring 83 which is mounted on a pin 84 and has a fixedly arranged first leg 85 and a resilient second leg 86. The second leg 86 rests against a shoulder 87 on the bearing pin 19 for the take-up spool 17, see FIGS. 3 and 5.
