Definitions

This invention relates to a package particularly suitable to hold lady's stockings or pantyhose, in a way that enables the quality, i.e. the fabric type, and the colour of the stockings to be evaluated, before the purchase is made, and at the same time said package is provided with a support adapted to hold the stockings hanging therefrom, to be stored in a tidy fashion at home, after the purchase. Therefore, said package provides the double advantage of being enclosed in a bag whose shape is such as to enable the quality of stocking to be evaluated, and being adapted at the same time, once it has been removed from the bag, to be used at home as a means for hanging the various stockings on said support.
a package is known from the previous art that enables only the quality of the stocking to be evaluated, in that said stocking is enclosed in a bag comprised of the same fabric of the stocking, protruding out of the package, no possibility being provided of using the same package for hanging the stocking thereon.
Rigid support 1 made for example of plastic material, is comprised of an A-shaped plate, and a pair of stockings or pantyhose 3 is wrapped around the side arms 2 thereof. Said support 1 is provided, at the upper part thereof, with an extension 4 having an eyelet opening 5, and at the lower part thereof, it is provided with an open portion 4'.
a ring portion 6 is fitted, of the same material of the previously wrapped stockings, identical thereto as far as both fabric and colour are concerned, protruding relative to said support 1 according to the extended part 7.
support 1 is externally provided, on the lower stretch of said side arms 2, with a serrated or knurled area 8, adapted to hold in a fixed position said extended part 7, i.e. to prevent it from sliding down.
the above assembly including support 1 with stockings 3 wrapped thereon, and a ring part 6 fitted on the stockings, is enclosed in a bag 9, provided with an opening 10, with seated extensions 11 Q4r ⁇ on the side of said opening, and with a flap 1 2 on the side 13 of bag 9 opposite to opening 10.
Package 14 is thereby completed and the component parts thereof are proportioned in such a way that when ring part 6 is fitted through the upper part of support 1, extension 4 is left free, and the lower open region 4' is in registry with opening 10 of bag 9, as it can be seen from Fig. 2 when said bag 9 encloses support 1, whose lower ends 2', provided with the knurled area 8, lean on sealed parts 11 located on the sides of opening 10 of bag 9.
flap 12 is passed through opening 5 and after having been properly folded it is fastened, for instance by gluing, to the opposite side 13' of bag 9, so that said eyelet opening 5 can be hanged on holder 15 having for instance the form of a stick.
the plurality of packages for stockings or pantyhose of various colours and sizes are hanged on said holder and said packages are thereby displayed in a store with the extended part 7 of ring 6 showing out, so that the fabric type and the colour of the stockings held in the package bag can be felt and appreciated before the purchase is made.
Advantageously support 1 without bag 9, can be hanged on holder 17 comprising a stick properly fastened at home, for instance a doset.
the two side arms 2 of support 1 have contoured peripheral portions 18 thereof, as it is clearly seen on Fig. 4, so that any thread pulling of stitches of the stockings wrapped around said support can be prevented.
