Definitions

  • the invention relates to a block for distance keeping and shock absorption.
  • Blocks of the type mentioned at the outset are required in a variety of ways, both for packaging purposes and as buffers, a particular area of application being in the automotive industry, both in production and in the automotive supply and accessories industry.
  • a device which essentially serves for display and packaging purposes and which is capable of absorbing mechanical shocks which keep the distance.
  • This is made up of several layers. It comprises a cuboid-shaped middle piece, which is formed from distance-retaining and shock-absorbing natural rubber, synthetic rubber, plastic or polyethylene foam, and the two opposite lower and upper flat sides of which have pressure-sensitive adhesives, with the aid of which on the lower flat side one made of nonwoven fabric, hardboard, cardboard, metal , Stone or wood lower lamination and on the upper flat side a removable cover layer made of polyethylene or an elastically deformable layer made of the same material as the middle layer can be attached as an upper lamination, the elastically deformable layer being made of a layer made of decorative material , which consists for example of dyed fabric, silk, velvet or another decorative textile, is replaceable.
  • this device which consists of several layers, a number of articles can be arranged or removed again for display in a simple manner and without great effort, for example by providing the deformable, elastic layer of the device with the cutouts corresponding to the outlines of an article to be shown , against which an adhesive layer of the middle piece is pressed, so that the article can be held on the uppermost layer of the device in the desired display position without any supporting device.
  • the multi-layer device can be used for certain packaging purposes without great physical effort and with a high degree of security against mechanical impact in containers, by applying one of the pressure-sensitive surfaces of the adhesive layers of the device to the inner walls of the container, previously using polyethylene existing cover layer is removed to release the adhesive layer.
  • a multipurpose protective pad is known from US Pat. No. 4,350,726, which is used in particular on backpacks for protection against skin injuries caused by prolonged wear.
  • the protective pad consists of a layer with two main components, one of which consists of a synthetic wool fiber fleece with a polyester cloth reinforcement and the other of a closed-cell foam. Both components can be glued together using a flexible, water-resistant binder, the polyester cloth reinforcement being applied to one of the two sides of the foam, so that a cushion is formed in which one side is foam and the other side is wool fiber fleece.
  • the total thickness of the pad is approximately one inch, with the foam being approximately 3/8 inch and the wool fiber fleece approximately 1/2 inch.
  • the pads usually have a 4 by 5 inch surface and are slightly rounded at the corners. With the help of a surface zip fastener attached to a surface of the foam, the pad can be connected to another pad for packaging purposes if this also has a matching surface zip.
  • the protective pad attached to the backpack serves as a buffer against pressure, chafing and skin irritation caused by wearing the backpack.
  • the known devices are not intended for this purpose and are also not suitable for releasably acting as protective pads or buffers between stacked, shock and scratch-sensitive motor vehicle parts, e.g. for interior paneling to be used during transport or storage.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a block of the type mentioned, which can be adapted to the respective different conditions of use without changing the manufacturing technology.
  • the block mentioned at the outset is characterized according to the invention in that a parallelepiped-shaped central piece, which has a hardness or compression hardness which can be set by the choice of material, on at least one of its two opposite flat sides by means of liquid or transfer adhesive with a lamination of felt, foil , PVC, rubber, cellular rubber, cork, cellular polyethylene, plastazote or foam is provided.
  • the spatial shape of the new block enables versatile use and adaptation with uniform production.
  • the thickness of the block which can be between 5 and 100 mm according to a further development according to claim 2, can be defined during production by using the suitable center piece.
  • the cuboid shape is not the only possible one.
  • the choice of material for the center piece depends on the desired strength in relation to the load occurring and also in terms of the strength of shocks to be absorbed.
  • both sides can also be coated with a film and, as indicated, with a liquid or transfer adhesive, so that, for example, the object to be buffered can be releasably adhered to the block.
  • the block can be covered individually, if necessary on both sides, with paper or film, both optionally siliconized or not, so that the adhesive property is maintained.
  • the block can be placed on large foils or sheets of paper and shipped in this way, or it can also be sent individually, that is to say loosely adapted to the format, on top of cover paper or kept in stock.
  • An example of an application is the transport and storage of interior door panels for cars.
  • the pressed door interior linings can be stacked on top of one another by gluing the blocks designed according to the invention for transport and storage purposes without touching one another during the transport vibration or the like or without scratches or the like occurring on the surfaces.
  • the blocks can also be easily removed again during assembly. Adhesion or tightness depends exclusively on the setting of the liquid or transfer adhesive used.
  • the size of the blocks and their outline shape depends on the respective purpose.
  • the cuboid center piece consists of composite foam. On one of its two opposite flat sides, it has a felt lamination. The other flat side is provided with a lamination of film, which has the outside of a coating of a liquid or transfer adhesive, on which cover paper or film is releasably attached.
  • This embodiment has the advantage that the spacer block has a permanent stickiness in the form of an adhesive film on its surface provided with the adhesive film, the latter being exposed after the cover paper has been removed and for the releasable fastening of the spacer block according to the invention, for example on the inside which is not visible after installation in motor vehicles a molded part, e.g. B. a door panel, for the purpose of undamaged transport.
  • the use of the film coated with glue has the advantage that the glue layer cannot be absorbed by the porous middle piece made of composite foam and therefore always remains fully effective. Since no adhesive penetrates into the middle piece of the spacer block according to the invention, which acts as a buffer and after hardening, it cannot form hard, non-damping layers, it is possible to precisely define and adjust the thickness of the required damping layer. Because an uncontrolled absorption of the adhesive is avoided, no hardened layers that are prone to shear are formed in the damping body (center piece) of the spacer block.
  • the flat side of the spacer lined with soft felt which does not have an adhesive layer, lies on the sensitive surface of the next part that is visible after installation when the parts to be transported, such as the door panels for motor vehicles, are stacked and protects them from scratches.
  • the spacer blocks cause the stacked parts to be padded and buffered during transport due to the composite foam of the center piece and the lamination made of felt, so that the blocks cannot be loosened as a result of shocks or a collision between them.
  • the middle piece of the spacer block according to the invention consists of composite foam
  • the advantage is achieved that the spacer block can be manufactured extremely cost-effectively since the composite foam is advantageously worked up from shredded foam residues.
  • the invention is shown schematically in the drawing using an exemplary embodiment.
  • the figure shows a perspective view of a block designed according to the invention with partially removed cover paper on one surface.
  • the figure shows a block 1, which is used for distance keeping and shock absorption.
  • the block 1 has a center piece 2, which, depending on the desired load capacity, consists of composite foam, foam, cork, felt, cell polyethylene, film, soft PVC, PVC plastazote, rubber or cellular rubber, each with a set degree of hardness or corresponding compression hardness.
  • the two large opposite surfaces are laminated. Both surfaces of the center piece, namely the flat, large, opposing surfaces of the block between 5 to 100 mm high, have a lamination 3, the z. B. are held by glue.
  • the laminations can consist of felt, foil, PVC, rubber, cellular rubber, cork, cellular polyethylene, plastazote, foam or the like.
  • the upper lamination 3 is designed as a film and the lower lamination 3 as a felt layer.
  • the outside of the upper lamination 3 made of film is provided with a coating 4, which consists of a river liquid or transfer adhesive with adjustable liability.
  • a covering paper 5 or a suitable covering film in a non-siliconized or siliconized configuration can be placed on this coating 4. As the figure shows, this cover film can be easily removed and removed, but it covers the coating 4 for transport and storage purposes, so that the adhesion of the coating is retained.
  • the block 1 can be arranged not only individually, but also in large numbers on a common large cover paper or cover film 5 and thus stored or transported.
  • the embodiment described represents only an advantageous embodiment of the inventive concept, which should in no way be limited to this.
  • the invention also encompasses other equivalent materials that achieve the same effect.
  • a felt layer for cushioning and preventing scratches another soft material such as fabric, e.g. B. linen, velor, etc.
  • the layers of material or laminations can also be attached to the damping block (center piece 2) made of plastic in a manner other than with adhesive, for example by needling, sewing on, welding on and plugging on.
  • adhesive film for fastening the spacer block and to apply the adhesive coating directly to the damping layer.
  • this embodiment is disadvantageous because the adhesive penetrates into the material and thus loses its effectiveness. This also affects the damping effect.
  • an adhesive coating can also be arranged on the damping layer.
  • This is a prefabricated transfer adhesive that is either applied to a carrier material (fleece, paper or the like), which is commercially available in the form of rolls, for example, and sticks on both sides. Or the adhesive layer can be used without any intermediate carrier.
  • the spacer block according to the invention can also have any other shape, for example that of a round disk, a polygon, etc.
