Definitions

  • the invention relates to an agitator mill according to the preambles of claims 1 and 2.
  • the invention is based on FIGS. 1 to 3 of document EP-A-146 852.
  • the separating device is arranged in a protected manner within the cavity open at the end in the end section of the agitator shaft, so that grinding media activated directly by the agitator shaft have hardly any possibility of impacting the separating device. Nevertheless, the risk of the separating device becoming clogged is avoided; the grinding media with the regrind axially through the open end of the agitator shaft into its cavity flow past the separating device without accumulating there, since they are thrown through the outlet openings due to the rotation of the agitator shaft.
  • the present invention is based on the object of making the regrind flow through the cavity at the inner shaft end even more intensive, in particular by further improving the outflow of the grinding media from this cavity.
  • tangential outlet openings can be accommodated particularly well; in addition, the cross-sectional shape of the end section of the agitator shaft deviating from a circular cross section has the advantage that around this end section within the grinding chamber there is always free space for the grinding bodies flowing out of the cavity.
  • the outlet openings are separated from one another by webs to which stirring elements are fastened on the outside.
  • the stirring elements can form an at least approximately gap-free deflection area around the outlet openings, in which grinding media are prevented from penetrating into the cavity. In this way, too, the outflow of the grinding media from the cavity is facilitated and the axial inflow of regrind into the cavity is thereby also promoted.
  • EP-A-146 852 there is also the possibility that the separating device in the form of a sieve jacket is arranged at least approximately coaxially with the agitator shaft on a tube which extends through part of the grinding chamber from the inner shaft end into the cavity.
  • EP-A-146 852 can be developed according to the present invention in that the separating device is clamped axially between the tube and a coolable insert body.
  • the horizontal agitator mill shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has a box-shaped frame 10 on which an essentially cylindrical grinding container 12 and axially next to this a bearing housing 14 are fastened.
  • the frame 10 contains a drive motor, not shown, and is connected to the bearing housing 14 by a gear housing 16, in which a gear, also not shown, with an adjustable transmission ratio is arranged.
  • the grinding container 12 contains a circular cylindrical grinding chamber 18 in which an agitator 20 is arranged.
  • the agitator 20 consists essentially of an agitator shaft 22 which is mounted in the bearing housing 14 and extends coaxially with the grinding container 12 through almost the entire grinding chamber 18, and a number of rod-shaped stirring elements 24 which are attached to the agitator shaft 22 at equal axial intervals and in between protrude between counter rods 26 attached to the grinding container 12.
  • a grinding material inlet 28 is arranged, through which a suspension or slurry of grinding material and liquid is continuously pumped into the grinding chamber 18 during operation.
  • the regrind outlet has a tube 32 on which a flange 34 is formed. The flange 34 is screwed to a cover 36 which forms the end face of the grinding container 12 facing away from the gear housing 16.
  • the tube 32 extends - coaxially with the stirring shaft 22 in the example shown - through the cover 36 and the adjacent area of the grinding chamber 18 to an end section 38 of the stirring shaft 22.
  • the end section 38 is detachably screwed to the main part of the stirring shaft 22 and points a cavity 40 open at the end or end, in which a separating device 42 is arranged.
  • the separating device 42 is formed by a cylindrical sieve cartridge, which extends immediately after the tube 32 coaxially with the agitator shaft 22 over the greater part of the length of the cavity 40 and is closed off by a solid, plate-shaped end wall 44.
  • slit-shaped, axially parallel outlet openings 46 are incorporated in the end section 38 of the agitator shaft 22, which extend over the greater part of the length of the cavity 40, so that the separating device 42 is enclosed by these outlet openings 46 almost over their entire length.
  • the outlet openings 46 are separated from one another by axially parallel webs 48, so that the end section 38 as a whole resembles a cage which is open on its end face.
  • a rod-shaped stirring element 24 is fastened in the middle of each second web 48; axially offset against this stirring element, two stirring elements 24 are fastened to the remaining webs 48.
  • the stirring elements 24, which are fastened to the webs 48 as a whole thus form a deflection area around the outlet openings 46 that is at least approximately complete in the axial direction.
  • the grinding chamber 18 contains a mixture of grinding media 50 and grinding stock 52, which is activated in the grating by rotating the agitator shaft 22 at a speed which is usual in agitator mills in the order of magnitude of, for example, 200 to 3000 revolutions per minute, depending on the nature of the grinding stock and Diameter of the agitator shaft and the grinding media.
  • a vacuum is generated by a pump, not shown, which allows the grinding media 50 and regrind 52 to flow from the grinding chamber 18 into the cavity 40.
  • the finished regrind 52 passes through the separating device 42 into the tube 32, while the grinding media 50 are retained and flow back through the outlet openings 46 into the grinding chamber 18. This backflow is promoted by the centrifugal forces which result from the action of the webs 48 and the stirring elements 24 attached to them on the grinding media 50.
  • the end wall 44 is part of a closed hollow insert body 78, which is connected to a coolant circuit via an inlet line 80 and an outlet line 82 and is clamped to the flange 34 by a tie rod 84, as a result of which the separating device 42 designed as a filter cartridge between the End wall 44 and the opposite end of the tube 32 is interchangeably clamped.
  • FIGS. 3 and 4 differs from that according to FIG. 2 in that the cage-like end section 38 of the agitator shaft 22 is formed by two rows of slender cylindrical rods 86.
  • Each of these rows of rods 86 is arranged in the form of a half Archimedean spiral, as shown in FIG. 4, so that the rods are particularly endeavored to hurl grinding media outwards when the agitator shaft 22 moves in the direction of rotation, in the sense of arrows 88 in FIG 4 turns.
  • the rods 86 are fastened on the one hand to the main part of the agitator shaft 22 and on the other hand to a flat ring 90 which encloses the axially inner end of the tube 32.
  • a flat ring 90 which encloses the axially inner end of the tube 32.
  • an annular gap is left that is wide enough to allow the grinding media 50 to enter the cavity 40 together with the grinding stock 52.
  • the attachment of the rods 86 to the main part of the agitator shaft 22 and / or to the ring 90 can be releasable; in this case, the rods can be enclosed by an exchangeable wear sleeve.
  • the end section 38 of the agitator shaft 22 is shaped like an ellipse in accordance with FIG. 6.
