Abstract

Afin d'accroître la puissance de pénétration d'un projectile à inertie (10), une région (17) du corps (11) du projectile, contiguë à la pointe (16), est fabriquée sur une longueur (L) avec un diamètre (D) supérieur au diamètre (d) de la région (18) adjacente du corps (11) du projectile. De préférence, D est supérieur de 12% à d, et L couvre 10% de la longueur du projectile. Application contre des blindages multicouches.

Claims (5)

1. Projectile à effet cinétique comportant un corps de projectile (11) sensiblement cylindrique sous-calibré de rapport longueur/diamètre important qui se termine frontalement par une ogive conique (16), comporte postérieurement un empennage (19) et est entouré coaxialement dans une zone centrale intermédiaire (18) du corps par des moyens usuels d'assemblage par concordance de forme d'un sabot (14) constitué par des segments, caractérisé par les caractéristiques suivantes :
- le corps de projectile (11) présente dans une zone (17) située du côté de l'ogive, sur une partie de sa longueur, un plus grand diamètre que la zone centrale et la zone postérieure du corps de projectile, de diamètre usuel, qui s'y raccordent ;
- la zone côté ogive (17) de plus grand diamètre du projectile (10) est lisse et non entaillée et située devant le sabot (14) ;
- la zone côté ogive de diamètre agrandi (17) du projectile (10) se raccorde directement à la surface de base de l'ogive (16) de conformation conique et se raccorde, sous la forme d'un tronc de cône (13), à la zone centrale (18) de diamètre usuel du corps de projectile (11), et
- la longueur (L) de la zone côté ogive (17) de diamètre agrandi est comprise entre 5 % et 15 % de la longueur totale du corps de projectile (11).
2. Projectile selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la longueur (L) de la zone côté ogive (17) de diamètre agrandi représente environ 10 % de la longueur totale du corps de projectile (11).
3. Projectile selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce que le diamètre (D) de la zone (17) côté ogive est supérieur d'une proportion comprise entre 10 % et 15 % à un diamètre usuel de la zone centrale (18) du corps de projectile (11).
4. Projectile selon l'une des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisé en ce que le diamètre (D) de la zone côté ogive (17) est supérieur d'une proportion d'environ 12 % au diamètre usuel de la zone centrale (18) du corps de projectile (11).
5. Projectile selon l'une des revendications 1 à 4, caractérisé en ce que la zone côté ogive (17) de diamètre agrandi du projectile à effet cinétique (10) est formée par un manchon (20) emmanché par pression sur le corps de projectile (11).
