Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a wiring tool for low-current system construction, in particular for the wiring of the terminal strips of distribution systems with cable cores and jumper wires, with a support that is displaceable in a handle via a striking mechanism relative to the handle, under the action of a pressure exerted against spring means Actuable, a wire into a contact slot of a connection element, the wiring head, from which a plunger protrudes on the inside, the inner end of which with a compression spring-loaded slide of the striking mechanism via a locking slide that can be moved laterally against the force of a spring in a detachable operative connection stands.
  • Wiring tools of the aforementioned type have become known, for example, from DE-A-2538558 and serve to make work easier when wiring distribution systems and the like.
  • the like for example, in transmission technology and telephony, where cable cores and jumper wires are to be connected to a large number of multiple connection strips.
  • Such a connection technology for solder-free, screw-free and stripping-free connection of insulated conductor wires to the terminal contacts of the terminal strips was developed by the applicant, which has meanwhile found worldwide use under the name VS 83.
  • a major disadvantage of such wiring tools is their short lifespan due to the enormous wear and tear on the striking mechanism, where a locking slide must be moved at right angles to the actuation direction of the wiring tool in order to achieve the desired stroke at the end of the wiring process.
  • this is initially achieved in that the locking slide, preferably with a 45 ° inclination, is arranged in front of the free end face of the plunger provided with the same inclination on a corresponding frontal displacement surface of the slide, the locking slide being directly or indirectly connected to a stop plate with a transverse link. and the guide surface rests on the handle in order to generate the transverse displacement of the locking slide upon axial displacement of the plunger until the plunger is released suddenly by resetting through an opening in the locking slide.
  • an advantageous embodiment of the wiring tool according to the invention resides in that a plunger on the ram on the locking slide forms a counter guide surface that is axially displaceably supported by a spring on the wiring head and absorbs the abrupt resetting force.
  • stop and guide surface is formed by the control cam of an adjusting cam supported on the handle and adjustable in at least two different extreme positions effective in the direction of displacement of the locking slide for earlier or later release of the ram.
  • these measures can either achieve a multi-stage or also a continuous adjustment of the locking slide in its direction of displacement, so that the plunger can enter the opening of the locking slide sooner or later, so that the sudden resetting earlier is triggered with less or later with greater restoring force.
  • the wiring tool shown comprises a handle 3, which is preferably formed from two housing half-shells 3 'and 3' '.
  • a so-called wiring head 12 is arranged in order to be able to press a wire into a contact slot of a terminal block (not shown in more detail).
  • the wiring head 12 has an indentation stamp 13 which is parallel to the contact slot of the terminal block and is delimited at both ends by transverse stops 14 and 15 which can be attached to the terminal block and are preferably designed as wire clamps. This is known per se and need not be explained in more detail.
  • the wiring head 12 is operatively connected to a blade 16 which points against one of the wire guide edges formed here by the stop 14 executes a transverse movement separating the wire in question about a pivot pin 18 on the wiring head 12.
  • a link 17 is provided to trigger the transverse movement, in which a pin 5 fixed to the housing engages.
  • the movable blade 16 is then pivoted in such a way that the cutting edge 16 ′ formed at the front end separates the wire at a predetermined distance from the clamping connection.
  • the wiring head 12 can be displaced relative to the handle 3 by means of a striking mechanism 20 and can be actuated in the handle 3 under the action of pressure exerted by hand against spring means 4, 10.
  • a plunger 2 protrudes from the inside of the wiring head 12, the inner end of which is in releasable operative connection with a slide 8 loaded by a compression spring 4 via a locking slide 7 which can be moved laterally against the force of a spring 9.
  • the locking slide 7 is now arranged with a preferably 45 ° inclination to the plane of symmetry in front of the free end face 2 ′ of the plunger 2 provided with the same inclination on a corresponding frontal displacement surface 8 ′ of the slide 8 .
  • the locking slide 7 rests with a slider 21 on a counter-inclined guide surface 22 on the handle housing 3 in order to prevent the transverse displacement of the locking slide 7 during the axial displacement of the plunger 2 until the plunger 2 is released suddenly by entering an opening 23 in the locking slide 7 to generate.
  • the stop 15 or wire clamp removed from the blade 16 is also provided according to the invention to form a fixed leaf spring on the wiring head 12.
  • This measure allows the clear width between the centering stops 14 and 15 to be automatically adapted to different widths of connection strips of different systems.
  • the flexible application of the wiring tool makes it easier to use.
  • a blade 16 is provided which, against an edge on the stop 14 or on the wire clamp, executes a transverse movement separating the wire in question about a pivot pin 18 on the wiring head 12.
  • This blade 16 is provided at its inner end with a link 17 into which a pin 5 fixed to the housing engages.
  • the movable blade 16 is then pivoted in such a way that the cutting edge formed at the front end cuts off the conductor wire at a predetermined distance from the clamping connection.
  • the blade 16 can be displaced in the longitudinal direction of the wiring head 12 with respect to the pivot pin 18 between two pivot positions 35, 36, of which the position 35 farther from the wire guide edge 14 'of the wire clamp 14 on the wiring head 12 determines the ineffective position and the closer position 36 determines the effective position of the blade 16.
  • the wiring tool can be used as a normal wire cutter.
  • the coupling between the blade 16 and the lever 30 is accomplished via a coupling plate 32, which is interchangeably supported on the housing 3.
  • connection of thicker wires requires a higher wiring pressure on the tool than thinner wires, so that the striking mechanism with thicker wires can only trigger after a greater spring preload has been overcome than with thinner wires. Conversely, the striking mechanism should trigger on thinner wires after overcoming a correspondingly lower spring preload.
  • the stop and guide surface for the transverse link 7 'on the locking slide 7 is formed by the control track 22' or 22 '' of an actuating cam 41 according to FIG. 3.
  • This control cam 41 is rotatably fastened by means of a locking screw 42 between at least two different extreme positions 22 'and 22' 'on the handle 3.
